Title: Stocksubmitter not starting after updating
Post by: Rage on December 19, 2015, 06:04
Just started having a very strange problem today. Stocksubmitter starts the updater, updates and then gets stuck on the "Starting application" dialogue. I've tried the following

1. restarting the PC
2. uninstalling & Reinstalling stock submitter

Help please

Most likely it is caused by false positive antivirus blocking of the program.
Try disabling it completely and see if that helps.

Yup .. .that was it ... put it in the exclusions list and seems to work now

Same problem here! I am using Avast!
Can't understand why should I disable my antivirus software in order to use Stocksubmitter?

First of all, you don't need to disable it permanently, just temporary as a diagnostic measure.
If the problem is in the antivirus then you will need to somehow add the program to the exceptions.

Why doesn't it work without disabling antivirus or adding the program to the exceptions?
Because Avast for some reason has lots of false positive reactions. This question is better to address to devs of Avast.
Personally I'm using only Common Sense antivirus and never had any problems with that.

Same here... Avast has an exclude option. Use that for the stocksubmitter folder.
