Title: Uploaded videos filenames
Post by: SkulkBayCretin on February 23, 2017, 18:11
Hi,

Quick question regarding filenames, when uploading a video to several major stock sites, the clip is renamed during upload, to something like "UEJTQl9KU19CMDAxX0MwMDE.mov", can this be changed?

Cheers

Sorry just found Niakris already answered the same question that names are only changed when characters aren't supported by the FTP? Accepted characters can only be determined by testing through uploads?

thanks

The name is changed because many agencies do not support some characters in filenames and the set of allowed characters is different across the agencies.
So it's just a safe bet to get your file uploaded.
You can use the option in settings to keep the original filenames during uploads but on your own risk. Usually safe characters are latin letters, digits and underscores.

It's in the program general settings. Not sure about the tab but definitely not Metadata.
