I just received a very nice email invitation to upload my entire portfolio here, but apart from Yaymicro (which was a complete disaster for me so I closed my account) I was unaware of another scandinavian stock library. Their home page looks suspiciously like Stocksy https://www.mostphotos.com (but without the quality images) and I was wondering if anyone could venture their thoughts on whether they're any good.

It could well be this email is a standard email sent out periodically to everyone with a portfolio, I'd be really surprised if I were one of the chosen few :)

Any thoughts or opinions would be welcome.

The email just received today:

Hi XXX [Ethan],

I'm Patrik and I'm the Marketing Manager at Mostphotos.

We noticed your impressive portfolio on Shutterstock and we really liked the quality of your collection - well done!

We think your portfolio has great sales potential on our site too and I'd like to give you an exclusive offer to join Mostphotos.

If you upload your collection to Mostphotos, I'll give you 100% commission on all your sales for the first 6 months! And on top of that we're also willing to help you get started on the site, uploading/publishing your images.

We have more than 6 million images and is the leading stock agency in the Nordic region. So we will give you great exposure to this region in addition to your current sales on other international stock sites.

Please get back to me to further discuss how we can get you started and what I can do to increase your sales. We are growing rapidly right now and we'd love to bring you onboard very soon as well!

Thanks, I read those before posting the OP. I was wondering if there was anything from this year which might be a bit more current, but I accept it's only two and a half months:)

I don't know if, in absolute, they are better or not that YAY.
I have removed all my images from YAY but I continue to upload at Mostphotos

A big positive point for Mostphotos compared to YAY: they don't send any emissary to tell lies on MSG forums

I would agree except there really isn't much time involved. You just FTP your stuff there, select keyword language (why???) and publish. Only editorial stuff needs to be separated out in an extra step. No review, so everything goes on sale.

They don't sell often and don't pay well, but at least it's in Euro and the payout limit is *very* low. I just cashed out with 10 Euros.

Also: No scummy treatment and 15-cent-sales like on Yay, so I wouldn't compare the two.

I've been disappointed with Mostphotos. Sales are low and the amount paid per sale is less than impressive. I almost never see even $1 per sale, usually far less.

you can opt-out on those sales (if you haven't already)

Didn't know I could, thanks for that info.

Unfortunately I think that opt-out will also opt me out of pretty much all sales, since most of the sales I get are those small amounts.

they pay 50 %.even 50% of the subs amount the customer pays out.

I like them, They also removed visible downloads to discourage copycats.

I still upload there and earnings are certainly decent.  Better than Yay or or panther in terms of sales.  Upload is crazy easy which makes it worthwhile for me.

I'm uploading, they are definitely getting better,  still very much a trickle of sales. Slightly off topic but related: wow how much better are things getting at canstock! last few years they were one doing what mostphotos were doing for me, now they are "middle tier"

I love the upload process but why select language for each file ? It' a bit annoying me.

I agree it's annoying (and useless), however at least it can be done in batch mode for all files at a time.

My recent experience is the same as my past experience....No Sales.

To be fair, I haven't uploaded much and stopped altogether back in 2012 - but I would have thought those 350+ files would have generated enough cash for a good dinner and a bottle or two of vino in that time. Alas no.

~ 6.000 files online
account exists since ~  2 years
sales total: 1 (12,50)

Shutterstock generates more every day than MP in 2 years (with 11.000 files online)

they're at  the bottom of my remaining ms agencies -- easy to upload, but dismal sales

does it really matter?  any percentage times zero sales still equates to zero... ???

You can option out from subscription which I would recommend.
It's actually a well designed and programmed site, I don't actively contribute to them anymore but left my port on the site as they played fair so far.
I checked and from 3000 pictures I had four sales a 12,50 (my cut) last year and few other smaller ones about 60,- for the year 2013.
