Author Topic: How do you delete your portfolio from Mostphotos (Read 9037 times)

I've had enough of their pathetic rating system, the final straw was the other day when I looked through the 'top rated' photo's, a couple of pages in and there were 26 individual images of single letters a,b,c etc, and every one of them had a number high votes, I mean I wonder how that happended!!

If you're to believe the hype that the admin staff post everytime someone mentions the rating system 'this sort of thing shouldn't happen and wouldn't effect where the image ranks, we have an intelligent system etc etc', and yet again here's another example of how it does.

Now I sent a message to their support the other day asking for my portfolio to be deleted, not a single reply and my portfolio is still up there.

I'm getting off all the sites that don't perform, the other sites I asked to get deleted from did it without fuss in a speedy way, why is it Mostphotos can't.

So I've decided to keep adding comments about how pathetic their system is on their forum until somebody answers my request, I don't like to do that sort of thing but it might get their attention.

Try Control panel - Account option - Delete account (at the very bottom of the page)

BTW I hate their stupid rating system too. The gits from the so called "Hall of Fame" damaged a lot of my images by very low rating (even the best sellers at SS, DT and IS) - obviously for fear that my pics could be rated better than theirs... I just ignore it now and do not look at my profile page at all any more.
I do not believe in sales at MoPh, but I use the page as my BackUp - I have uploaded there my whole port. In case something happened to my computers, I could download my pictures from there. . .

Exactly as Peep wrote. That's how I deleted my portfolio.

And good for you. If enough people close their accounts because of that pointless, stupid rating system, maybe they will finally get rid of it. I too checked the search results, and it was clear that the community ratings had a lot more effect on search placement than was being admitted. It also seemed as though "member rating" was playing a big role too. In other words, the more times you sign in, or post in the chatroom, or rate images, the higher your rating.

Of course none of this has anything to do with quality search results which benefit customers. But this is why after all of these months, the Big 7 is still the Big 7, and the Low Earners are still "innovating."

I wouldn't mind the ratings system so much, if it was easier to find out who is handing out low ratings, so I can block them from rating anymore of my images. There's one guy who rates everything under the sun, and he's relegated some of my best images to the bottom of the heap. Really irritating.

Actually I'm finding a whole group of them!

Under advanced search, I just discovered that you can sort by average vote, so now I'm locating all of my lowest rated images and blocking anyone who gives me a four or less. Even my top seller of all time (just about to hit the blue flame at IS) was given a rating of four. Jerks.

Other than the stupid ratings system, I really like MP. Wish they'd get rid of that thing or at least lessen its importance, like IS did.

Serious buyers have little time for such nonsense. It is unfortunate that you had to concern yourselves with this kind of crap over there. The ratings system you desribe benefits no one except for perhaps those wo have too much time on their hands and screw others to get their own jollies. Better to concentrate on what is reliable, credible, and profitable for you.

True. I wouldn't want to be a buyer on MP since search only gives you photos from people with the biggest friend list and the most time to spare.

Peep = I am doing well on 123RF and they also act as a back-up for my images. Of course they are only backing up those that are accepted.

Anyway - I not only check my ratings to see who gave me the low "4" (or less); I click on their name that show up as a rater to see their images. Then I give them a large number of fours (or less)! Get them before he can block you.

I am thinking about deleting all my images and closing out my acount. Doesn't seem worth the time.

Why, you might be right. Since 123 accept almost anything I send them and they do NOT have that stupid rating thing I may as well use THEM for back-up instead of stupid MoPho. And in addition, they are a moderate seller for me...

Stockxpert also allow you to download your own images for free.

Still if download ur image from MP you get the original file size not StockXpert and 123rf...
