Maybe its just me but for me it looks the "no editing at all policy" takes its toll:

there a great examples of blurred and out of focus pictures etc. but in this case i'm really speechless and this pictures already have a much better rating than nearly all of my pictures.
It is possible that i simply don't understand the brilliancy behind this pictures so please feel free to enlighten me.
I don't wanna bash the contributor she has a nice portfolio in general.

Any buyer looking at that selection of seagull pictures at mostphotos is likely to give up and look for an agency with better quality pictures.

If that page is representative of the stuff for sale at mostphotos they have got a real problem and will never be anything other than a third tier picture agency.

If they accepted those shots they'll pretty much take anything.

Wow... and wow... and then wow again after looking with the zoom feature... wow!!! ... out of words... MP should reaaaally do something about this... as I said before... loads of poor quality pictures uploaded and that's just the beginning....soon you'll have people using MP a sa free photo storage space to share their family dinner snapshots with relatives & co-workers.....

yes they do take anything - your images are not reviewed when you upload them.

That photo has a rating of 1, so it isn't likely to be seen by buyers.

A search for seagull brings up much better images. Mine is in 5th place.

i got a view (seagull) pictures there too,
but i am convinced those votes
don't give an objective judgement at all.

Every view ups the index 0.1 points so it might increase significantly thanks to this thread

There are a lot of images on MP getting really high ratings from lots of people but that don't deserve those ratings -- especially technically flawed images that only look good as thumbnails but that are unsharp, noisy etc. Those will show up high in the search right now and if the buyer doesn't inspect the image at 100% s/he might be pretty disappointed with the quality...

ouch! I am the first to admit that I have some garbage photos, but that would have been a deleter (and I would hope no one was watching over my shoulder to have seen that I even took it). I dont understand how you put something like that on the web let alone expect someone to pay for it. wow.

I received a 5 in an image of Sugarloaf that sells well everywhere and is one of my top sellers in IS. Should I care? The rater has a good portfolio, but maybe he is uncomfortable that all of a sudden a big group jumped into MP?

Know before you hate!

Mostphotos has a very complex backbone that wont allow these kind of photos to appear in the results for buyers.

The system is democratic and MP is accepting every photo uploaded. The photos ranking depends on how popular they are. The more popular a photo becomes the higher it climbs in the search results.

Those seagul photos has a MP-Index around 10.
The most popular photo the last three days has a MP-Index close to 500.
See what I mean.

Me says: wait and see. What Mostphotos does is certainly different - and a smart alghrithm can probebly gauge the PEOPLE's response to a photo better than one reviewer (although it can't guarantee quality). Wait and see...

if you have a lot of spare time or if you are looking for a photo community then it's almost OK

Elsewhere this story it's a big jock.
Agencies that don't generates any income is for me just a waist of time.
I have gave them a try, uploaded my images and after a few months what happened?
Oh the answer is so easy: NOTHING
Sorry guys im using stock agencies to pay a part of my bills, it's not just a hobby for me.
