I need a lot more to convince me to start uploading.  Why is your site going to do better than the hundreds of others that aren't making any money?  I have uploaded my portfolio to a few sites that pay good commissions and let us set prices but they have either closed or have very few sales.  I can't understand why people are still opening new sites, unless they can come up with innovations that haven't failed many times in the past.  There's already far too many sites selling the same images.  The only ones that have had success in recent years have invested lots of money.  Just look at all the failures in the earnings poll, that's only a fraction of those that have started since 2005 and have failed to generate sales.

I'd say the demand is still there for new sites. I think Photodune showed just how easy it is to sneak in and compete. Until someone comes up with a site that is so incredible that it makes you wonder why you are bothering with the rest, there will be room for new sites. I'm still holding out hope for that, but I'm not sure it's very close to happening.
Photodune is part of Envato.  They've been around since 2008 and have established themselves with their other marketplace businesses.  They already have buyers that are going to be interested in images.  I think its much harder starting from scratch in 2011.

Only one file upload at a time; no FTP; and no organized model release function.  A new release must be uploaded with each photo, even if the photos are of the same model.  Very time consuming, and certainly not worth it unless they've found a way to seriously outperform other sites.  Hopefully I'll be able to make a few bucks before it goes under.

EDIT:  I'm seriously rethinking this.  For the second time in the last five days, I've received a $9.00 deposit into my PayPal account.  At first, I thought it must be a mistake, and I'll get a message telling me that it's been refunded or something.  I noticed that I also had a sale for $9.00 at AYCS, but I didn't make the connection.  The second time was a short while ago, so I checked my AYCS portfolio, and sure enough - another $9.00.  Apparently, my money from each sale is deposited into my PayPal account immediately.  No waiting for the 15th of next year!!!  (I'm being somewhat facetious - it's not a typo.)  So if they're gonna deposit the money from each sale immediately into my PayPal account, you can bet that I'm gonna upload like a wild man!  Well, as wild as I can get uploading one file at a time.   :P

So I've made $18 from two sales in the last week.  With my latest uploads today, I have a grand total of 22 items in my portfolio.  Can any other site claim that kind of activity?   :o
That's interesting.  My main complaint about new sites is that I either never get payed or it takes years to reach the payout level.  I might give them a go now.

I did find a photo of the London Eye that should only be sold as editorial and I can't see any info about editorial.

i also registered there. But have not received any confirmation email even after about 6 hours. They should try to impress the contributors atleast at their initial steps because "1st impression is the last impression"

Sorry.  The question was meant to be posed to Alllyoucanstock, not other contributers.  A few too many wines before dinner I guess.

Hi AttilaTheNun, thanks so much again, tried to send you a heart but need to have at least 10 posts ... so will do later. We ended up coding it in java but your post was really helpful. MR lib will be available in the near future as well.

Thank you,

Zsolt

Thanks for the notification, reading exif data now works fine. However only being able to upload one file at a time and setting the price for each file is a pita, please I,plement FTP and fixed price asapnand I'll be happy to further upload. Good luck - I guess every newcomer is a welcome addition and should be treated accordingly.

No, not at the moment, but we will consider adding it along with the default pricing option. Thank you for the idea!

Please go to myAccount -> profile section. You can change your profile information any time.

We do not set the price it is up to the contributor to do so. There is only one license option provided currently:
