Hi,
Are there anyone who sell photos or graphics in www.iclipart.com? I noticed this agency in one of the microstocker's blog:
http://www.graphicgravy.com/2011/09/vector-microstock-power-rankings-%e2%80%93-august-2011/
It is described here as quite good earner. But i can't find many information and resposnes about it on web.  If someone of You are selling thare it would be great if You shared Your experience. Is it worth to try?

Is it definitely a Getty site? Do Getty own Vital Imagery Ltd.?

This is the list of the Getty companies I saved from somewhere.

Getty Images - iClipart.com - iStockphoto - Jupiterimages - Photos.com - PunchStock - Thinkstock - WireImage

If you Google - Getty Images and iClipart - you'll find iClipart to be a subsiduary of Getty.

I looked into iClipart awhile back but became apprehensive.
Honestly I can't remember why, but I would also be interested in feedback from current contributors.

I had sent them an email a year ago asking for more information..

They pay %20 commission and that was the deal breaker for me.. It's a "NO NO" especially for a new site..

Yes I am on IS, but that was like almost 5 years ago and believe it or not: I signed up with them before I found out that their commission was so abysmal.. I thought this is istockphoto, they are not going to try so hard to screw me so I don't really need to read the details.. Man, was I wrong!

It was the last time I trusted a site just because they were BIG..

Oh, and one more thing about iclipart, last time I checked they don't credit illustrators on the item pages.. That's even worse than paying %20 commissions.

That is strange "Contributors Anonymous"

"...Oh, and one more thing about iclipart, last time I checked they don't credit illustrators on the item pages.. " -  I  agree with it. It looks a little bit strange and i don't really understand why they are doing it.
But anyway i feel temptation to try them :) I didn't succeed to pass istockphoto exam and became vector contributor there  - so now i am looking for an alternative for it. This is the reason why i am looking at the smaller microstock agencies now. I've heard that from the low earners there are several agencies with good potential for vector artists. several of them are:
www.clipartof.com - recently i contacted them, but i was informed that they don't accept new contributors anymore :(
www.iclipart.com - very little information and responses about it, but in some posts some microstockers told about quite good earnings there
www.isignstock.com - a lot of complains from contributors about very long files review time and other disadvantages but there also are many positive responses about quite good earnings there.

Hello!

We try our best to process submissions as quickly as possible although Im afraid there have been a few instances where contributors have waited longer than we would like. Please always feel free to drop me (johnnie[at]ingrampublishing.com) or my colleague Lotti (lotti[at]ingrampublishing.com) an email and we will prioritise your work for review.

Yeah as some mentioned sales maybe good.. BUT,

- Not crediting contributor's name..
- Paying %20

are 2 unacceptable issues..

well, yes those two issues aren't big advantages. But if sales are good there, i think it might be worth to try. I'm going to contact them for some more contributor information.
I checked stats of this site - alexa rank and traffic looks quite good.

I have been buying clip art now for 10 years and made a mistake with these people and was not aware of it until I wrote them as many of their transparent graphics do not download transparent. It was then they told me I could not use these commercially at certain sites. I am pretty good even legally blind and 76 seeing thee things. I had made 2 products immediately removed them and deleted every graphic. I was in the 3 day money back but they said since i had downloaded more than 3 I was not getting a refund.!! It took me 10 downloads to see the clipart was awful and and could not be used as I needed so I was taken for one week. 12.95 and I upgraded to be able to do more than 35 the same day for 79.95 so almost a hundred dollars for nothing. Do not order anything from them they are crooks and have a nasty attitude. I am sure they are making a lot of money of not giving refunds.  I am on Social Security and that is all I have and this really hurt

Robert, could you elaborate on this? Which graphics were you having trouble with?

Every image I've looked at on the site doesn't specify whether it has a transparent background or not. Were you told by someone that the images would come with a transparent background?

Total guess here, but I'm thinking POD site like Zazzle and a poor understanding of copyright issues....he says "I had made 2 products"

-Up-

So, iClipart, does it have good sales or not, despite the 20% commission?

I'm aware of them not giving credit to the artist, which is questionable to say the least, but not necessarily a dealbreaker.

I am getting sales, however they calculate your royalties based on a percentage of your sales in regard to the total sales/revenue.

It does provide me with a decent monthly payout, the bulk of the sales coming from Clipart.com.
