I have found some of my images on there, something super fishy is going on. Is this a partner site or what?!

ETA, numbers seem to tie up with YAY so I guess that's where they are getting them from, but they aren't on the partner list!

No way, my whole port's on there and there are no license terms on the site!!!!!

All I can find is:

"All the files will be royalty free and can be used multiple times and you just have to pay for it once."

what is going on here!!!! Yay needs to get on here right now and explain how these people have my portfolio from their site!!!!

I recommend everyone checks to see if their work has also been mirrored on here from YAYMicro, do a search for your YAY username as going via the categories only shows a couple of images, if you do the search all your work comes up.

Don't know anything about websites, but there are multiple references or links to the YAY site in the code, there's a bit that says "mirrored from yaymicro.com" for example. Anyone know if YAY has an active rep on here?

BIG FAIL!!

Fortunately the $1.95 price seems to be for the smallest image size, 548px x 548px. Large sizes go for a very decent $19.50.

Pricing isn't this company's problem though. The terrible website design is the most glaring issue, along with poor branding, no unique selling proposition, no visible license info, no contributor info, poor copywriting, a logo that looks like Crestock's old one, etc, etc, etc...

Sometimes MSG feels like a bunch of applied torches and pitchforks with citizens.
Sometimes I am one of those with a torch too  ;D
As is pulled on prices or commission rate and simultaneously sold on photospin (iam not sure it was this agency) with selling commission of 0.03:o
Then complained about low commissions, while istock donates only 25%. But 50% is the absolute minimum for new sites? what? That makes no sense for me. And more .. Stocktal where it is quite clear that there will be nothing (zero success). But then, all at once images are uploaded just to post (msg) 2 weeks later how horrified you are. And then there was a agency with actually 70% commission - and again a few were shocked (in a bad sense). Iam bored :(

The biggest problem isn't the pricing, it's that they have the YAY micro library and are selling it with no license terms on the site. I think it could be a scam like that spoof IStock site (can't remember the name) we need a YAY rep to get over here and tell us if it is a legitimate (lame) partner or if they have somehow hacked YAY for the images. If it's legit why isn't it on the partner opt out list on YAY?

In addition to everything noted above, this site is so poorly put together.

The thumbnails are square and show squished versions of the images - horizontal images with people are the easiest to see

The search puts up the same bar of page numbers at the top regardless of how many images are returned - so you might think you have 10 pages of results, but if you use several words to search, clicking on more pages just puts up empty screens with the page number links and nothing else

My stuff isn't there - if it is just YayMicro I don't sell through them - but how is allowing this proliferation of amateur-hour web site partners in any way good for contributors?

The founder's name is in the about us. That name comes up a few times, but possibly this is the guy as he says he does keywording for stock images?

Yeah indeed

The biggest problem isn't the pricing...
No, it isn't the biggest, but still worth mentioning and bolding! The agency is talking about premium images for less than $2, people! I wouldn't even bother if it was about subs (like on SS) or regular, standard mass microstock work. He is offering something exceptional, PREMIUM (it says all for itself) and you take his side. I don't get it one more time...

"best stock site ever" "change the world" "lowest prices" "professionell"
and "premium" whatever. This is only a word for marketing.
This is no reason to exclude an agency and to be avoided. That makes no sense. But i totaly agree with EmberMike`s reasons.

I haven't uploaded to Yaymicro for a long time but now I may delete all my content if they are going to allow this crap to happen.
I have checked that my images are there (cstock) and sent them an email saying that I consider their usage to be illegal and requesting them to remove my images forthwith.
Any bets if I get a response or not.

For anyone who still has a portfolio at Yaymicro, I would suggest that you check you API settings.
I just checked mine and found that I had automatically been opted in to about four new partners.

Yep, if you inspect the page code its coming from Yay. Mine are there too. Just opted out of all partners at Yay, thanks for the heads up emjaysmith :)

And yes, that logo....lost for words..

I think it is. Look at the unlimited subscription prices here:

Unlimited images of any size is a big problem... I've done a screen grab in case it changes:

I have had a reply from Narin at cstockphoto.
He has confirmed that he is a reseller for Yaymicro and says that the license terms are the same as Yaymicro.
I have replied that as I have not authorised my images for resale through his site as a Yaymicro partner I repeat my request for him to remove them.
Let's see where we go from here, though I suspect I will end up having to delete my account at Yaymicro and say goodbye to the money they owe me.

Yes Ron, I did and that's why I said I give up. And I'm not going to continue this fight. If people accept this kind of behaviour, your choice, I'm out. I won't clap bravos to any agency that says it sells PREMIUM stuff from so low $... It's one of biggest reason why the market is ruined - rat race to the bottom, who will offer cheaper. I say it all the time - give it for free maybe, why not... if it's bottom pricing already. It's not the direction of my goal. So no thanks and I give up...

What Yaymicro API partner does this site use?  I want to know what one to opt out of.  I could opt out of all of them but then I might as well dump Yaymicro.  None of these sites seem to sell much, so I don't think we need to get too concerned.  Never understood why new sites haven't noticed that almost all the buyers use sites that charge them more than all the failed sites that tried to undercut them.

The thing that's really getting to bug me is the imbalance. These sites get rich and the contributors get very little. Even if this person is working solo they may not get rich but could probably make a very good living with very little sales volume. So the pattern continues of site owner does well and contributors don't. And it's just another site that sets the expectation for buyers of premium for cheap. Why bother supporting stuff like this? And all of these backdoor partnering API deals.

I keep saying it and I'll say it again. By supporting these sites we are leaving money on the table. I just sold a small business website usage RM license through my site for $150. He initially said too much money, he could go to the micro sites and get something for way less, and asked for a huge discount. I negotiated a little but he still bought the image.

Are we our own worst enemy?
