It also depends on the keywords. Some photos takes longer because we have to delete wrong keywords. And some needs longer because we have to write a lot of german keywords. We try to make manual (!) translations and keywording in german language. This needs some more time but it can help to make more money later. Especially if you set free your photos for picturemaxx/APIS too where the german magazin editors gets their photos...

We also have three new employees yet for that Content-Aktion, but they have to learn the work first. They will be faster in some days (i hope).

As you said Michael - sooner than later my files are there...
Zoonar have almost the best submission process I have tried.
I changed my mind when saw percentage cuts which you give to your authors. That is very high if not the highest standard in the industry. Especially I like that you translate keywords from English to German manually. That way there will be no stupid translations as on all other places. I just hope there will be enough mass downloads to make it all worth our time and your efforts.

Obviously you mean business and regarding Polylooks and Deutche Telekom it will be very interesting ride in the future...

Lets now make some money ;-)

Cheers!

Yes, this is one frustrating issue that I have with this site!

Yesterday, I uploaded 158 images, however, only 122 showed up in the 'Under Review' queue.

It really frustrates me that I'm unable to view which of my images are in the 'Under Review' queue.   Obviously, for some reason, 36 of my image uploaded images 'went missing', and because of the uploading process, I'm unable to ascertain which of the images 'went missing'.

Hmm I think what the problem was 6MP I have a lot made with a 6MP camera and some I have copped a bit just above 4MP what the rest of the stocksites requires.
I think half my portfolio is under 6MP...Glad I have now a 21MP camera...

This is my experience.  It does take some time for the images to come Under Review, and you won't know until later which ones pass.  You just have to wait a few days.  You will recieve an email with the accepted and rejected images listed with explainations. The system works well, much faster than DT or IS and you don't have to worry about catagoires or keywords until later.

Zoonar basic prices

Format    Discount   Standard   Premium
(...)
Royalty Free licence +100%

What is Discount, Standard   and Premium?

What do you mean by "RF license +100%"?  Were the previous prices for a one-time usage only?

Anyone else noticed that Polylooks reviews takes much longer than usual? About a week I would say.

Have 3 been waiting for 8 days.

I need just few dollars for payment at Zoonar. I like the site, it's functional, it's easy. Making lightboxes is super simple, upload process is awesome....now we just need more buyers...

Information for all photographers who are waiting for Polylooks inquirys:

Zoonar didn`t use automatically translations like many agencys, because we are not happy with the quality of that keywording results. We make manual translations and keywordings with many "man-power". That`s why some photos needs longer than others. Photos of isolated objects, flowers or christmas bells, for example, are mostly fast through the process. Photos with Peoples or symbolic content often needs more time. Also photos with too many wrong keywords will needs more time because we put this photos at the end of the line.

We want to make a good german keywording, because we and you will have more sales in the future if we do that (especially if you set free your photos also for picturemaxx/APIS)

We have three new employees for the keywordings process now, but some of then have to learn the process first. I think we will go on much faster in some days...

Zoonar has an good increasing sales rate, but we are a newcomer. You will have more less sales than at agencys in the Top 10 now. That`s why we pay for photos as an incentive for photographers to give us a try. If you make a balance after one year you should have a fair hourly rate because we try to make the working time for photographers as low as possible...

I gave up uploading. I have to edit every shot separately since they take the IPTC tag "headline" (when not empty) as title, not "Object name" as is the rule in microstock. When doing so, I get kicked off about every 2-3 images and have to log in again on their slow site (or my slow bandwidth). Treating 10 shots took me 20 mins that way. Not worth the time for me, especially since I had 80% rejects on my last Canon D5II pics that all but -1 made it on iStock. The Java standalone upload is from the age of the dinosaurs. It doesn't even display thumbs nor checkboxes like the 3DS uload.
Good sales wished for those that got their shots online.

strange. The site is super fast here. I downloaded all my images from Mostphotos backup, and all image titles are in their place. So, for every batch of 50 images I need about 3 minutes to submit them to Polylooks and Picturemaxx, and to select if they need model release or not.

It was mentioned in this thread a couple of pages ago. For photos represented in other microstocks we are asked to use "Discount" price. Normal is for midstock and premium is for traditional macro stock - but either of these 2 aren't expected to be set for photos that can be found on cheaper microstock.

So, for every batch of 50 images I need about 3 minutes to submit them to Polylooks and Picturemaxx, and to select if they need model release or not.
The problem is not so much the Java upload module is from the last ice age (why don't they use the Aurigma one?) but that I get auto-logged off every 3 images. Since I have to copy/paste title and captioinn to each and every image, that's just too much for an unproven site. It will probably be a cookie problem that doesn't occur in IE, but I use Firefox.

Another thing is their totally fantasist rejection reason Reason: Sorry, there is no call for this kind of picture. That would be fine if they didn't accept similar images with the same model(s) out of the same batch. Like Veer in the very beginning, they show the rare talent to accept the least selling shots out of a batch/shoot (on SS and DT- where they are online a week earlier) and reject the best selling ones. They probably need to streamline their reviewers base first. Veer is fine now, but it took them more than half a year to remove the stray reviewers.

Yes, I had a few Polylooks sales as well.  I was surprised to see my account suddenly jump up by a few Euros on the 1st of June!  I've only been on the site around a month.  I've had more sales on this site in that short period of time than I've had in months on some other sites that I've go my images on.

I've just received the following e-mail from the site:

Dear customers and photographers,

in preparation for the Zoonar relaunch our website will temporarily not be available from Wednesday, June 2nd to Friday, June 4th. Our website might not be available at all on Thursday and Friday. During this period picture uploads and picture sales will not be possible.

We ask for your understanding!

Important news for photographers: the Zoonar content campaign in cooperation with Polylooks will be extended thanks to the great success! Another 100,000 images will be accepted, so now 170,000 images remain in total (as of June 1st). You will get 15 euro cent for each accepted image which is released for Polylooks!

An important tip for those who want to upload many images: please upload your images sorted by themes and series. This makes the translation process much easier and less time-consuming for us, which in return allows you to upload more pictures and earn much more money. Many photographers mix their themes and series to give the impression of variety, in the hope that the editors will not reject too many similar photos. However this actually leads to more rejections for efficiency reasons - it is much more time consuming to translate keywords for, say, 3 images from a series, then translate keywords for a different batch of images and then another series and another series (only a couple of images from each series) only to return to the first series later with another 3 images. These additional 3 images might get rejected then to save us some time. If, however, your entire series is uploaded in sequence we can translate this series at once.
As you can see we can process sorted themes and series much faster which leads to a much higher acceptance rate.

Going by the sales I've already had, the prompt and helpful replies to e-mails that I've sent to the staff, I think this site might turn out to be a winner in the long run!
