Title: ClipDealer, anyone?
Post by: ThomasAmby on November 25, 2009, 07:32
Has anyone heard of a microstock site called ClipDealer (http://www.clipdealer.com)?

I'm interested because I consider contributing my vector illustrations to them, but doing a quick search I don't think they have been discussed in here before.

They seem to have an okay deal: 50% and vector prices at 9,9 EUR

And no, I am not associated with them in any way, just curious; Any sales, any views? Worth giving a shot?

Thanks!

The site looks nice enough - although strangely familiar to the many other sites :)  It appear to be German, perhaps some of the Germans here have had experience with them?

- it also looks like they opened in the summer some time.

They are German and there has been quite some talk about them on the German forum www.foto-talk.de (http://www.foto-talk.de)

Some people seem to have positive experience with them and have reported sales already. I just started to upload, process is pretty ok and rejections are few for me. No sales yet, but since my first images are up only some days that is not surprising.

They seem to have a longer history in selling stock video (hence the name...), but I have no idea how they are doing in that regard.

I was just readin thier Terms & Conditions.

"8.2 The contract between Clipdealer and the Author is concluded for an indefinite period of time. Either party may terminate the contract with regard to the entire content or with regard to individual pieces of content, upon 6 months' notice with effect as of the end of a month. The Author may only terminate the membership in connection with the Authors' Licence Contract."

Article 8.2. Just to make sure, is this meaning that I would have to give 6 monthes notice before I could remove photos, should I wish?

I've been submitting video to them for several months now and have sales almost monthly (the euro to usd makes it worthwhile for me).  I've always got a great response whenever I have emailed them and I really like them.

I have some photos on there, but havent had any sales on the photos. I just recently (2 days ago) submitted some vectors.  If you do decide to submit vectors, you just upload the eps file (no jpg preview needed because they generate that for you).

Hi everyone,

my name is Markus and I'm the founder and CEO of Clipdealer. Clipdealer started last year as a marketplace for video footage. This year in February we started with our Audio section (sounds and music) and in the summer we started with selling photos and vector graphics.
If you have questions about Clipdealer I'll try to answer them as soon as possible.

@annabelle496
This point describes the case if you want to cancel your membership and delete all your files on Clipdealer. If you only want to remove single files you certainly don't have to wait 6 months.

Cheers

Since photos are only new this summer here on this site, has anyone uploaded and what sort of results have you been getting in terms of views and sales?

Simply put, have you had any activity?

We currently sell a medial two digget number of photos every day. The average price of a photo is around 5 Euro (nearly 2.50 Euro for the photographer). And our number of sales increase week by week.
