Hi George,

I have just seen your site and one thing I really like is that you accept smaller images.  I have tons of very good 640x480 pix images that can't be accepted anywhere, though they are perfectly suitable for websites and even small images in printed material such as flyers.  However, by selling 0.06pix and 6Mpix at the same price, you won't attract people who work at the high res range.

I also see that you're using Ktools software (correct me if I'm wrong), which has a horrible search tool, quite useless - and a search tool is a very important feature in a stock photo website.

Another thing is that I see some very bad images in color or composition or focus.  I know it is natural to be less picky at first to make the site's portfolio grow, but then it's a tough market and you need to be special, offer something outstanding, to be able to compete.  Keywords are also a problem - try to search for jeans and see what you find.

I hope this feedback helps.  I'm always looking for new sites to grow together - I've been into stock photography for just a few months - but by now I think your site won't attract most of the contributors here.

Regards,
Adelaide

Hi Adelaide,
Thanks for the feedback.
1. A new search engine with advanced features to search within catagories and by photographer will be updated within the next week, lightbox and hover view updates are also coming.

2. Yes, we do except some smaller photos, seeing that a large part of the stock photo market is web designers, and most webdesigners don't need 2400x2400 photos, and it's a shame to waste a perfectly wonderful shot if some one can use it! We do want to focus mostly on high res photos though (obviously), annd already have quite a few talented photographers contributing.

3. As far as poor quality shots and keywords.... there were quite a few photos bulk uploaded (1000-3000) within the last 48 hours, and some photos were accepted that should not have been, we are going through as I type, those bad shots should be out of there within 24 hours....

Thanks alot for taking the time to give feedback.
George

Hi..i looked around your site and could not find any information on contributor's agreements.  Accoeding to the buyers agreement the site owns full copyrights.  I would be hesitant to upload anything without knowing in advance what is exactly expected and offered.

Hi George

Have visited your site with a view to signing up but have the same reservations as Judy -

"GreatStockPhoto hereby represents that it owns all rights and copyrights to all materials on our website, and all rights and copyrights to said website and materials shall remain the exclusive property, right and control of and under GreatStockPhoto and  “Materials” from our website will constitute and be defined as any photo, image, design, or layout represented on the GreatStockPhoto website"

Surely unless you buy the images (at great cost as they would not then be available for sale elsewhere) the copyright remains with the photographer/artist ?
