Hello,

I just registered on Featurepics. Most of my portfolio images are at 4096x3072. All of them are 3d illustrations.

I can't seem to decide if I should charge $5 each at highest res and allow smaller resolutions or to charge $3 each but without smaller resolution allowance.

What do you think I should do ?

Cheers

Konstantinos

Hi,

I signed up with them about two weeks ago and I was facing the same question. I priced all my pictures at $5 and I allowed smaller resolutions. I don't think that it is a good idea to offer just max resolutions because all the other web sites that I submit to offer that. And I think it's nice for the customer to decide how big of a picture they need.

Anyway, I haven't had a sale yet and from what I have heard they are not a great seller so your pricing probably won't have very big impact anyway.

I started with them in March. Priced at $1, $2, and $3, with a few higher. My plan was to watch the pattern of sales and adjust pricing accordingly. One or two sales a month hasn't told me anything.

For images I place at microstock sites, I pick a price that will give a price of about 99c for the smallest size.

For my high res images, which I don't put at microstock sites, I price them much higher, like in other non-microstock sites.

Adelaide

Thanks for the comments guys. So as I understand the charge option is editable right ? Even if I choose one way now I can still go and change it in the futute right ?

YOu can change when ever you want.  You can also bulk change I think.  I changed all mine to $5 when the resize happened.

i have them at different price and i price them at the middle of microstock photos. most of them are priced at $4-$5 depending on MP with resize options. The lowest resolution for about $1.40 or so, which is mid range of stock cos most are btw $1-$2 depending on how much you buy, whether in bulk or in 10s etc.

I have sold 2 so far. I joined in Sept, sold 1 in Oct and 1 in Nov @$4 a piece and I got $2.80.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for all the input.  I started with all of mine at $1.  Then I started pricing them at $3, to see if price made much difference.  But I've only had  2 dls in about 3 months, so who knows?  I keep uploading there because it's so easy.
