Hi guys

I'm currently uploading to the big 5 + BS, Sxpert and Canstock. Canstock brings me the least $.

What I would like to know is, are there other sites (a part from the ones mentioned above) that bring in more $ than Canstock? I have a bit more time on my hands and if it's worth it, I'm willing to give another company a go.

Thanks guys!

Kosmik..., from my own experience, CS is far from being a top site.  Here are in order of revenues, the ones worth uploading for me:  SS, IS, FL, DT, BS, SX, 123RF.  CS comes after that...  Ant to keep the numbers in perspective, SS sells 10 times more than DT !

These are the sites I submit to and the % earnings from them:

20% shutterstock (BEST EVER MONTH - BEM)
17% dreamtime (2nd BEM)
9% Fotolia (BEM)
13% istockphoto (BEM)
4% bigstockphoto
25% 123RF (BEM)
7% StockXpert
1% Featurepics
2% Canstock
1% Galastock
1% LuckyOliver

[edit - 123rf did well because of an EL and due to my small portfoio size - this had a major effect.  It would normall be around 5-7% with the rest split amount the others]

Fearturepics had a bad month and due to their high % payout, I recommend people support them as it would be great if they took off.(not even a referal link as I cant be bothered). the others dont seem to be worth it at this stage. Only one sale at LO and none at GS this month.

WOW, 25% @ 123Rf that is amazing, I earned like less than 1% there. For me right now there is a race between SS and IS for the lead for two month now. SS won last month and this month it seems they will win again. But I have only a fifth of the amount of images at IS.

Here are my rankings from top to bottom and the number of months on each site with a break between what I consider the different tiers. The bottom 3 in the 2nd tier are almost tied so it would be difficult to pick 5. I will decide individually on the bottom 4 when I reach payout if I continue there. The top 3 make up 63% of my gross. The top 6, 90%. At their present level, uploading to 4 sites for 10% doesn't make sense. I have the most hope for LO.

SS - 6
DT - 9

IS - 9
F - 9
BS - 9
SX - 6

CS - 10
123 - 7
FP - 9
LO - 5

Thx guys....

From what I gather, I already have the top ones and there's nothing in the bttom buch that pays as well as CS so I won't bother uploading to another site for now.

Thx!

When I see other's listings, I wonder why DT doesn't sell as much for me..  it's a mystery at this point.

As dbvirago said, I am also hopeful too for the LO site.  Hardly any sales yet, but the uploading is so easy that it's worth giving them a chance to succeed.  Up there, what you see is what you get.  Right now they are on a steady course. They are boiling the water, and they know it.

CJPhoto is right, FP is a good site to support too.  And they also have the easy FTP upload.

For me the top ones are:

SS     36% of all earnings
DT    31% of all earnings
IS     14%
FT    11%
StockXpert    5%
BigStock    2%

So the bottom two did not really make any money, even though I only started 4 months ago, but with average over 300 images per site, other than IS (143 images), I think the number pretty much tells the story,

Rounding to the nearest whole percent...

47%  Shutterstock
15%  Istock
11%  Dreamstime
 8%  Stockxpert
 6%  Fotolia
 5%  BigStock
 4%  123RF
 3%  FeaturePics
 1%  CanStock
 1%  Lucky Oliver

Dreamstime was ahead of Istock for awhile but Istock pulled back ahead after the controlled vocabulary addition.

51% Istock
30% SS
9%   Dreamstime
6%   Fotolia
5%   BigStock

Even with all the problems over at iStock, the changes have caused my sales to sky rocket there. Whereas SS, the sales have taken a nose dive. I haven't been seriously uploading in two months and SS really penalizes photos for not being brand new.

17 Sites!  How do you find time to shoot? If you are doing it in part to make money, you need to cut out the timewasters. Look at your percentages. 90% of your income in 5 sites. All the time on the other 12 to make that last 10%?

You obviously did not read this part:
I have between 50 and 580+ images on the various sites. Focus more time on the money producing sites.
I have a LOT of photo's backed up from previous shoots that I only now convert from RAW for Stock.
I don't specifically go and shoot for Stock.
But with every shoot, there's always some stock photo's in there somewhere, whether it's a wildlife shoot, a Bikini shoot or an Air-Show.
Also have my girlfriend helping me in the evenings with keywording and categorising on sites of the files I've uploaded during the day. Have 2 Camera bodies and multiple lenses, so the two of us cover various angles/aspects of shoots at the same time and collect double the ammount of photo's during any shoot.
Most of my time and uploads go to producing sites, but I try to add at least 5 shots a week to non producing sites, to just keep them ticking over for the day that they take off, then I'll already have a decent portfolio on them.
