Does anybody upload to Photaki?

If so, what's the sales like?

I had taken a look on this website and registered. It seems quite good but i am a bit disappointed at this moment, i tried to move my images to get it published and always got an error message.

you are required to upload 10 images for approval, and before you got accepted, you are not able to accept the contributor interface.

on the website is showing as low as 0.20Euro, so i guess it means the lowest you will get paid is 0.10Euro? it seems a new low for subscription rate. But i think the subscription rate is available only if the buyer bought 1000 download package..for cheaper subscription plan the rate is normal as other website.

since it is a spanish website, sometimes there are parts of the website isn't able to translate to english.

I found out there is no option to edit keywords and delete your image, so i am not sure is there a lock up period for your files. I had sent an email but got no replies.

I gave it a try since it target spain and i think it may have a new market for it?

overall, i think it is promising.. here is my referral link.

it offer some good statistic tool, like you can browse a map for images available at different countries.
thank you.

Photaki definitely has decent commission rates! You can get upto 90% commission depending on how many downloads you get per image, which is obviously a bonus.
Also, they do an affiliate scheme where you can get a cut (10% i think) of the profits from any photographers you reccommend.
The site is deffinitely worth a visit.

but what about sales?
anyone have any direct experience there?
because there are a lot of good sites, but if they don't sell it's useless

In about two months I've sold three images. 3 Euro of profits ;D

Is not as bad as other places  ;)

Review times are short.
And they have a low rate of rejections (in my case)

I apologize for my English

the website was partially down for quite some time..my files are failed to move to published..and now it seems okay.

it supports IPTC ..but not for eps vector.. and it seems to charge eps vector cheaper than certain jpg size..

the site is okay i got a single sale 0.5 euro.. haven't been uploaded lots of images.. but i think the subs will go as low as 0.20 euro that's mean you get paid 0.10 euro?

here is my referral link..

The fact that they have both Rights Managed and Royalty Free licenses means profits can be a bit higher!

And like you said Alfonsodetomas, it could be worse!- and if you dont have many photos uploaded what else can you expect?- dont think we can blame the small sites like Photaki.com for low sales if were not putting it out there!
 ;D

OLD THREAD but:

Well, I have tried. Now I wonder if anybody knows how to delete images from Photaki? Thank you.
I could try to write to their support but it is more probable that Santa Claus would reply to my letter regarding D800.

I am willing to support small / new sites, even if sales are few. But they should play their part as well...

I tried photaki one year ago and noticed two major problems:

1. despite having IPTC and FTP, there's still a lot of work to do on their site to submit pictures. No good (especially for a low seller);

2. they seem to translate all keywords to Spanish and back to English, with all resulting errors from double (useless) automated translation;

and regarding support, they once replied to my email after about 6 months - must be the longest time ever;

If they'll fix these issues, I will try once more. Otherwise, bye bye.

Same here. I don't need to make thousands immediately. I make on Photaki same zero as on Zoonar. But when I have any difficulty with Zoonar, Michael sends me reply back in few hours.
Last Photaki bug that made me angry is that I am supposed to correct my descriptions and keywords that were destroyed by THEIR system - they added "+" and `@*&*{&" in front of and between words - (what a surprise - no reply from them).

It also happen that some of keywords (usually very important) are removed during their incomprehensible "translation of translation" process.
Also it's great that system offers you keywords that you can add, unfortunately many of them they forgot to translate to English and and and....

But it seems that "Bye bye" won't be that easy.

I forgot to mention but the `@*&*{&" thing happened to me as well - then it's not just a random error, it's a usual "feature".

Started submitting 4 months ago. Have 1 sale so far. If I had more time I might have found their translation and reversal translation of some of my descriptions and keywords quite humerus. Unfortunately it is really not worth the time to fix it all for what they have to offer.
I am holding out till end December and will clean house of all the dead ducks then.

I have the same problem with this bug and one more big problem, to open and edit one image have to wait 10-30 seconds to load and if I have 500 images need 3 hours just to open my pictures...
