Photokore has only come up a couple of time here at the forum. What makes this new agency interesting is that they are dedicated to the Asian market. I think this is something many here are waiting for, an agency that will try open the Asian market to contributors with English titles, descriptions, and keywords.

The submitting process is fast and easy via FTP. Some more info:

Maybe it's a dumb question, but why wouldn't the asian market not just use the established top tier agencies? Aren't all agencies catering to a global market?

Maybe the attraction is that The website can be viewed in English, Japanese, Chinese (simplified), and Korean.

I think there is a couple of things that separates them. One is the background of the CEO Sean F. Mooney http://www.photokore.com/about_us/main that is related to the Asian advertisement market. And the other point is the translation into the different Asian languages. The have a closed keyword system, but you don't do the footwork, they do (at least that is my understanding). You submit the image with your regular keywords. In the submitting and approval process (after you submitted the image), the will port your keyword into their system. And from there it can be automatically translated into the different Asian languages. With this they can create market specific port websites for the different Countries in the native languages.

100.-U$ minimum payout is too high for a new site.

Hello Microstockers on MSG,

My name is Jay Chae, and I am Business Development Manager for Photokore.

It is my first time to post here, but I think many of you are curious about my company.

A great number of Asian image buyers cant read English, so weve created a site where they can search in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Hindi, Indonesian, as well as English. Its our hope to help non-Asian artist claim a share of the Asian imagery market. Were still new, and have lots to develop, but will do our best to support our artists.

I hope it helps you to get idea of Photokore.

All the best
Jay

It's kind of interesting talks here. With my work experience Asian market is one of fast growth in the world and people's seeking cashs in this region. I don't see any fresh Asian images uploaded on any big microstock sites and there're rarely usable images where designers staying in Asia want to use. I think Photokore's appearance makes sense and there should be thousands of people diving into the new market.

Non-exclusive royalties start at 20% and top out at 30%. That is no incentive to upload to a new site.
Adjust that (start with 50%) and you will attract contributors.

Hi Jay

There seems to be a bug in your upload system. After uploading and I do not immediately go to unfinished uploads (Step 2) my quantities indicated in pending is much higher than it should be, I also then get other people's uploads in my "Step 2" preview area. If I log out and in again it is correct again.
I have emailed for an FTP account, but is also awaiting feedback.
Hope to get feedback soon.

Responds from them can take a day. I assume that it is the time difference. If I contact the today, I usually receive a respond next day in the morning.

Thank you. I am patient. Have also found that if you use the select all images check box you can not (or have difficulty) in attaching a release. If you select the images by hand, then it attach the release.

This got to be one of the fastest results I ever had to place a referral link. I started three days ago to place this referral link. Now I have 10 referral so far, and one person already has a sale. Most of the referrals probably don't even have that many images online in that short of time.

Anyway, I like to say THANK YOU for those of you that have used my referral link!

I'm there since May but I don't spread my referral links around in this forum. I even helped them out on some stuff. Oh boy!  :'(
(they won't make it)

Yes, I got a sale within the first 24 hours of starting to upload (got 35c). Unfortunately does not say much, also got one within first 2 days at Photaki and after 6 months still only has the one sale....  :P

Photokore was only founded in 2010. I think it is to early to say that they will or will not make it. I like the concept that their focus is on the Asian market. AttilaTheNun, why do you think they won't make it?

I get the distinct feeling that very non nun-like, "we" are very stingy in giving out any reference to any site which may cause extra competition.  ;)

I just got 339 of my photos accepted. No rejections, but none are showing up yet in keyword searches.
I wonder how long it takes to translate all of my keywords?

Took about 24 hours for my first ones to show. If you look at the top of the screen where you submit your images, you will note that all the approved ones first go to the "Being Prepared" area. I assume this is where all text get translated into the foreign languages. Only thereafter do they get displayed in the available for sale area.

It does not seem if they look at all the images (also no rejections here).  I had a few badly corrupted images I missed with the submission process accepted as well (unfortunately not very flattering for either the contributor or the standard of the website)   :o
