Hi all, I have just come across this forum, and quite like all the chat about stock sites.
We run PhotoSales NZ, which is a New Zealand based site, catering to amature to semi-pro photographers throughout New Zealand, to show their photos off on.
In total now, we have been round for 3 years, like all sites, we have started very small, and grown and developed over that time.
Now we actually get our member photographers work in the events photography side of things, and they love the extra income that can provide for them.
We would welcome you to visit our site, to give comments and feedback as well.
Regards

Sorry, do not really understand what you are trying to get across there.
The site has been completely re-developed, with full events, many updates to make selling photos nice and simple for the photographers and more.

As the site is just for Kiwis, I am not sure what you are after here? (I'd be surprised if there wasnt a few hanging around, are you targetting them as potential contributors?).
The site seems nice, easy to navigate etc. While I'm a big believer in watermarks, I dont really like the watermarks on the thumbnails.

I hear exactly what you are saying Phil, we have played round so much with the watermarks it is not funny anymore.
We try to make them less visible, take them off, and then Photograpehrs say about people pinching their photos etc, we put it back, then others say we don't want them etc.
I am working on at the moment an addon where photographers can choose to display or not display the watermarks on their thumbnails.
It would be nice to get more people joining if they are from NZ from this forum, but the main reason for joining was to get peoples ideas, and to share our site with others.
We are built on a out of the box solution, which we have modified to suit our own requirements and design over the years.

Yes I can smell ktools photostore (http://www.ktools.net/) all over in the design. ;)
As to feedback, I think it's very unprofessional to link to a sponsor that sells "replica" (pirated) top designer bags, with no traceable address nor location. http://www.sokubag.com/ (http://www.sokubag.com/) "Replica Chanel Handbags - Replica Louis Vuitton Handbags - Cheap Fake - sokubag".
Cheap fake huh? :o
No thanks.

Don't be sorry your not the only one who finds it hard to understand

Yes, correct it has been built on the Ktools system, and heavly modded from there to suit out own requirements.
Some of the features we have included are:
- Photographers Themes - Selectable under photographers area
- Search Start - Live search stats for what people are looking for
- Live Sales Stats - See what the latest sales are
- Specific skins for events - http://www.photosales.co.nz/gallery.php?gid=332 (http://www.photosales.co.nz/gallery.php?gid=332) as an example of skin
- Specific products per category - http://www.photosales.co.nz/details.php?gid=89&pid=33414 (http://www.photosales.co.nz/details.php?gid=89&pid=33414) example
- Normal and Premium members system
Just to mention a few. Wow, doing a search through these forums returns a few results about the Ktools system, did not realise people did not like it that much..... I guess if you can program, and add on to existing code, then it does make a good base to build a site from.
Regarding that link, well, umm, yes - need to deal with that one....
Thanks for the replies however, seems to be a great wee community going on over here.
