I have been photospin for about 6 months.
Slow sale: I have about 180 pictures there, 4 sales for the past 6 months.
I don't know how to view my portfolio, as a contributor. I stupidly search my name on the search bar, like a visitor, to find my portfolio.
Does anyone have the same problem or any can tell me how to solve it?

Go there and do a search for something that you should have there- once you find one of your images click on it. It will show the artist name- than click on your name and presto there is your portfolio. Than bookmark for future reference... 8)

And where is the fun if it is more simple?

Photospin is dead. Is there any chance to withdraw money?

A reminder to ourselves: always ask for a payment as soon as possible, never leave any more money than necessary with them.
However when a site closes without warning, I am also (more) worried about what they'll do with our files.

Main message on Photospin site- lost some money :-[
Our Apologies.
After 20 years, Photospin must shut its doors.
Due to financial difficulties, Photospin has officially ceased operations beginning Monday 8/27/2018. We have enjoyed servicing you and regret that we will no longer be able to do so.

Mmhhh... .Good idea about cashing out regularly! I think they owe me about $180 or so.

I'm only a tiny minnow but it really surprises me that people leave more cash than they absolutely have to sitting in very vulnerable accounts...companies even bigger than SS or Getty have been known to crash spectacularly in the past.

dumb question- if a company just decides to quit the business they don't have to legally pay us?

We are simply unsecured creditors. When the company files bankruptcy, they liquidate all their assets for whatever money they can get. The first money goes to employees, then to secured creditors (usually banks). If there is any left, then it goes to other creditors.
There is rarely enough money to reach the unsecured creditors. If there were, then the company probably would not have filed bankruptcy...

Yeah, probably driving his Bentley to his 45' sailboat on the harbor :-[

I made some decent royalties there. I think I had requested payout last month. This stinks. I did like the site.

Some of us requested payout months ago and did not received any answer. As far as I know. So, Val is clearly collected some money before closing. Shame.

This is sad news, but very telling at this point in the microstock industry. The smaller companies dissolve, or get merged into bigger ones. I haven't uploaded any new stock imagery to the photobanks in at least 3 years now. My biggest 3 payouts each month are Shutterstock, Adobe, and DepositPhotos... with Dreamstime and 123RF tied for 4th place. The rest are almost not even worth bothering to check the royalties, no more than quarterly.
At one point I had earned over $5000 / year with Photospin. This year, the payments have been sporadic at best. Sad to see anyone have to close their doors due to financial difficulty, but it's also sad to get jipped out of our meager royalties without any kind of final payout announcement. The revenue share is such a small portion of their cashflow. I've never had anything negative to say about my dealings with Val, as he seemed like a stand-up guy. I will be emailing him to see if there is any way for me to get the small remainder of my earnings. It's the principle, not the amount that is most important.
