Title: Vectors at Zoonar
Post by: jm on December 22, 2010, 17:29
Anybody knows how to upload vectors to Zoonar properly? With or without jpg previews? Now I have both jpgs and eps files in "Manage Pictures" folder and I'm afraid it won't change. I can't find it in their faq. Thanks.

Funny, I was looking for the exact same thing yesterday but apparently no info on their site, or here at MSG.
I uploaded a test batch yesterday, one EPS and one JPG file of another image.

It seems to generate the preview from the EPS file (however with the famous distorted/oversaturated colors as seen on Thinkstock and old CanStock).
I wanted to delete those test images, and the only way I could find to do this is by manage pictures -> mark the images -> edit pictures -> and choose "delete" from the dropdown menu
These two images now have a caption that says: "Deletion date: 21.06.2011"

Great. So I'll have to wait six months for the deletion of this test batch. I never keyworded the images and never assigned a price category or license type, yet they seem to have been reviewed and up for sale now.
Here they are: http://www.zoonar.com/profile/ThomasAmby (http://www.zoonar.com/profile/ThomasAmby)

This is a huge turnoff for me. Fair enough that you want to keep our images for six months, but at least let us be able to delete our files BEFORE they go into review process. Right now it means you can't screw up, or you'll have to wait six months. When you hit the upload button, nothing must go wrong or you'll have a failed portfolio for six months at least.

Both eps and jpg versions are approved (I uploaded large - 25 MPx jpegs). It seems that Zoonar creates jpegs from eps up to A4 format only. To send these XL jpgs or not to send them - that is question. It's better to have XL files in portfolio but I don't like having image in portfolio twice if not necessary.

....easiest but little bit unfair way how to get image out of your portfolio could be removing or not inserting any keywords.  :-X  But I prefer having possibility of doublechecking my files after uploading before final submitting.

It`s simple: Please upload the eps-files first (only with FTP), after that you can upload jpg-files with the same filename and additional IPTC-Informations (Keywords, Titles ...) if you like.

Sorry, we will create an short instruction for our site in the new year...
