Well, I do know it's getting closer, our profile was updated so now it actually has information there.  Hope it's soon!

OK - let's go Tom and Lawrence, how about an update on the progress of the site - an email or something soon?  I'm losing my enthusiasm so my uploads have slowed down.  I hope you're not waiting around for some bailout money to come your way before you roll out the site.  I'm generally a very patient person - have to be, I'm a public school teacher - but I'm beginning to wonder.  Frequent communication helps.

I thought you needed a gun for that, rather than patience   ::)
Great portfolio!
Oh, Vivozoom, well. No comment  :P
They're just too slick avoiding the earnings question, as a subscription site. What we've got here... is failure to "comnunicate" (Cool Hand Luke).

Good luck there!

I can't see any point in delaying the launch.  It puts people off uploading there, why upload to a site that can't sell your images?  When they do launch, they wont know if the site will run smoothly or there will be problems.  Every day that goes by another new site seems to start up and the vast majority of them have failed.  I used to support new sites but now that I have a few with abysmal sales, I am sticking to the ones that have buyers.

I uploaded there about 250+ images and stopped to see what happens. They said they'll launch the site by the beginning of february as I remember, now we are on the second half of march and still nothing..

The lack of a response from anyone directly connected with Vivozoom speaks volumes.

Yeah, there's nothing going on there anymore. Two days ago I sent an email to support asking when will VZ launch. Until now, no answer yet...

I'll second that. I have emailed them a few times and they always get back to me but im getting pretty frustrated with those guys. I had a bunch a crazy rejections and I emailed them about it and they agreed that my photos should have been accepted but wanted me to upload everything again.  Like I have time for that.

I wonder why anyone should care?  Name one new microstock agency which has worked out for contributors.  Mostphotos, Yay, Snap, Albumo, LuckyOliver, and on and on.  We don't need any new microstock agencies.  Why the excitement over Vivozoom?

Why the excitement over Vivozoom?

For the very same reason that people:

-reply to scam emails
-buy cheap junk they know won't work before they buy it
-go to church on Sunday

They rejected most of my good non-person sellers at other sites, so I doubt their reviewers. I also doubt their programmers since it took months before they came up with a password > 6. Wasted too much time on it. I stopped uploading. Time wasted there is better spent on new shoots or paying more attention to iStock.

I guess some of your fellow photographers just don't know any better
than to believe in God and go to church on Sunday, Richard, but I
haven't replied to an email scam in ages.

Isn't that the truth!

It's always kinda funny reading posts complaining about the tedious upload process at IS and squawking about how it isn't worth the hassle, and then in another thread reading the same person talk about how they will continue to upload to a non-performing site because of the easy uploads or friendly interface.

The days of viable new sites are over.  LuckyOliver was the last one to have a shot (some folks, like myself, were making regular payouts)...the rest all seem to fade into oblivion before they even get started.  It would take an extraordinarily innovative new model of selling images for a new site to make it now.

I get regular sales with mostphotos and zymmetrical have sparked back in to life.  They have a chance but some of the others look like they are going nowhere.

ha, ha, this is true.

An no ms new site withouth a huge investment has now reasonable possibilities of surviving more that some months.

I still think there is a good chance that Vivozoom can make a decent inroads into the market. The big difference is they actually have people that know the market not just a bunch of tech guys who sit around. However, its a tough tough time to be launching a new venture. I'd rather see them launch when the site is properly designed and functional than annoy buyers off the get go. They should give photographers who are putting faith in them more information though. Actual updates, with real information, because even the most patient individual will eventually give up and walk away. Be a shame not to be getting everyone's newest and best just as you launch.

I just logged on and my dashboard shows 3 DL. Maybe they are live, or is this just a test?

Mine shows 1 DL but no $$... I suspect its just a test, but then it would be nice to know if the site is actually going to go live.
