Several years ago I received an e-mail from Prodigar. They want my portfolio in their agency. I decided to upload to them. I think there are about 15.000 images online (from a portfolio with 35.000 images) from me.Never sold anything, and this year I want to reduce the number of stockagencies where to submit.
So, I asked them tho remove my portfolio, several times. Never an answer. Then I was stupid, and removed my account, I hoped that my portfolio was connected to it, so it was removed after that action. Stupid, I know. I am out, and they keep my images online.

1. Is there anyone submitting to Prodigar?
2. What can I do in this case, anyone advice?

This is the first I've heard of Prodigar.

I don't understand how people can turn their digital assets over to unknown and unproven start-up "agencies" with no guarantees that the assets will be protected.

Nice starting statement, they forgot to add "good news" though! :P

They also won't show you what they have unless you make an account.  Crooks.

I thought I hadn't heard of them either, but when I went to their site, my password manager filled in a user name and password. I searched my email and found that in 2015, Franois Aquesbi had emailed me about joining their agency. I had replied that there was a bug and I couldn't read any of their terms or look at work without a login. He replied with login information saying it wasn't a bug but a way to protect artist's portfolios from theft!

I didn't think my work would be a good fit for them.

Other than complaining to them on their social media sites - sometimes public shaming about lack of a response to emails can help - perhaps you could withdraw your consent under the GDPR? Their blurb says if you don't consent they'll stop representing your work and close your account, which is what you were after.

Fun to look. Last FB, last Twitter update, December 2019. Website copyright says 2019, hasn't been updated to 2020.

Industries
    Design

I'd say any site that makes you join, to be able to see what's there, has a bad plan.  ??? I mean turning away buyers not just artists or lurkers.

Always fun to look at the location and see, is it someone home, a condo, or what?

Did you know that there are 28 companies registered at SUITE 34 NEW HOUSE, 67-68 HATTON GARDEN, LONDON, ENGLAND, EC1N 8JY in Camden?25 companies are active and 3 companies are dissolved.

However if you look, the list shows more dissolved companies than active?  http://www.ukaddressbook.uk/a/suite-34-new-house-67-68-hatton-garden-london-england-ec1n-8jy

None of them that I could easily ID as Prodigr. Domain name info blocked.

You missed your calling - you should be a private investigator! (or maybe that's your day job?)

Yeah, Pete, time to drop that sweet, innocuous "Uncle Pete" moniker.

"PI Pete" has such a great ring to it!  :D

Perhaps it is better to send a registered letter to the address in london with my requirement to delete my portfolio?

Regards, Ivonne

Well thank you all, the idea was just to see who and what are behind this. Hopefully that wasn't all seen as negative but just the facts?

Hatton Garden was interesting on Google Earth, it looks like a diamond, gold and pawn shop area. So I looked further. https://www.hatton-garden.london/
"Discover London's Historic Diamond District. A short walk from Farringdon and Chancery Lane underground stations, London's renowned district of Hatton Garden is bustling with fine jewellery stores, coffee shops, Leather Lane Market and some of London's most revered food stalls."

Why there are 28 businesses registered at the same single address, most of them shut down, I don't understand. If that was the US I'd say mail drop or law offices that register legal filings.

I'd say that anyone interested, should judge Prodigar based on results, not just looking on the web. Maybe someone who has tried their management? My limited search was just to see what they might be. Personally, I think they (or he) found good collections and artists and wanted to promote those people, with good quality portfolios.

Similar, That's why Deposit is listed in Florida but they are really: (from their own site) Depositphotos is a royalty-free microstock photography agency based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was founded by Dmitry Sergeev in November 2009 in Kiev, Ukraine.

https://netpeak.net/blog/depositphotos-founder-dmitry-sergeev-only-play-where-it-s-easier-for-you/

Here's an interesting five year old interview, where Dmitry mentions that they used to be a file sharing site. The kind that allowed people to share anything, as long as the owner didn't complain. Also his view of Clashshot is good reading. Are they still doing anything? I don't know? But a smart and forward thinking kind of person.

No I don't upload to Deposit, they played with blurred lines and licenses, they aren't for me.

Today, finally,  I received this message:

Francois has sadly passed away and I am his wife trying to sort his business out. As you can imagine, there would be a lot to do but I assure you your work will not be used in any manner.

Discussion closed, I suppose... Francois was the owner of this agency.

Well, at least there is an explanation, even if it is a sad story. But now you know they werent working maliciously. It is probably a very tiny place.
