Hi all,

I have decided to submit my portfolio to one of the low earning sites during the Christmas holidays in order to diversify my microstock income and gain a new source of income.
I already contribute to SS, IS, StockXpert, FT, 123, CS, BS, Zym, FP, and DT.

But I am not sure which of the low earning sites I should choose.

I tend to choose Yay or Veer.

Which of those agencies has the easiest uploadsystem? ( I have about 8.500 images in my portfolio)

Which agency has more sales?

Which agency is your favorite? Why?

I like to get a large number of images online in a short amount of time since I am not willing to spend a lot of time uploading to this agency. I just want to upload and forget about it for a couple of months in order to see what happens.

I simply have no experience with Yay and Veer, so I need some decision guidance from you.

So, what’s your opinion?

Why not upload to both? Some people do OK with Yay but you have to get accepted for their third party sales. Some people do OK with Veer but others are reporting low sales. I find yay easier to upload to but veer is relatively easy.

Yay is definitely the easier to submit to: they have ftp and no upload limits as far as I know. Sales are slow though

For Veer, they have upload limits sometime you can submit only 100 pictures at a time thenn have to wait for the queue to clear up.
They have ftp but never managed to make it work

The upload on their site works pretty well though.
I reckon that you might have more sales than Yay

So my answer will be both: I will start by YAY using ftp, than Veer.

Hey,

thanks for the fast response.

Since I love easy upload systems and hate uploadlimits I tend to choose Yay. Submitting to both agencies is an option I haven’t considered jet. The Problem is my slow connection to the internet. With my internet speed I am able to upload about 300 images every night. So I will need about one month to upload all my images (if there is no uploadlimit).

8500 is a lot of Gb send even with a fast connection. Good luck hope u will get some sales !

^^^Make a project file, there is a link on your profile page. Put in 100 images and then send them an email asking to be included in their 3rd party scheme. They will take a look and let you know if you have been accepted.

You have to set up SSL for your FTP to get it to work. I'd never done that before, but I got it to work when I uploaded. It was a little buggy, but that might have been my FTP software too.

As far as the original question, I might just upload a smaller sample portfolio to each and spend my time making more images instead of uploading everything.

From a monetary point of few I guess you are right. I already had too many disappointments with small agencies. (Featurepics and several small German agencies)
But I am doing this also for the fun of it. I love to log into all the sites every day and even if there is only a sale once or twice a week/month it’s okay to me.
I hope that my lifetime-earnings at Yay will be at least the same amount of money I earn on SS in one day

with a 8500 portfolio, you should get more than 1 or 2 dls a week.

at this point, it's probably a smarter strategy to find new sites, than to shoot new stuff, unless it's very high quality images.

None. I canceled them both. Veer had a very weird/accept policy and YAY doesn't sell at all. Use that spare time to shoot or enjoy life.

Who uses their time to upload? I am always doing something else while my files upload in the background. Some people do it overnight while they are sleeping. I doubt it has taken an hour of my time to process the uploads with veer and yay. The money made is much more than an hour making new images.

I totally agree with the comment about Veer's weird rejection policy. Veer MP rejected and my photos over keywords (need work) but didn't provide any specifics over which keywords they objected. After contacting Ryan, it seemed that my landscape photos were rejected (sometimes more than once) because I had the keyword "landscape" included, while none of other sites has any issues with these keywords.

I have sitemailed Brian and am still waiting to hear from you. Before I hear from Brian, I will not upload any more photos.

Uploading is not the real work. It's finishing the images on site. Even when all IPTC is filled in, you still have to categorize, and attach model releases.

I suppose it is quicker for me with no model releases. I don't think yay or veer have categories. It takes me a few seconds to click a few buttons and that is it.

Veer might very well have more future potential but with the third party sales YAY has brought in a lot more income.

Yay has no upload limits and Veer is limited. With the limits though, you would probably have more than enough time to upload to YAY and keep your Veer cue full. It only takes a few seconds to fill up your weekly allowance on Veer

Well you can cross zymetrical off the list.

Maybe you could add to both to increase chances of being a submitter to the next one to be closed.

btw my tip is stockxpert the next to go

seriously I've been loading to veer and am a bit disappointed with the results, probably had more dl on snapvillage. but they are easy to download to with no categories. I haven't tried out yay and probably won't be any time soon.
