I'm wondering if other have a similar experience with Zoonar or if it's just me...

I have a portfolio of 1000+ images on Zoonar and I have been with them since August 2017, but to date I have 0 sales. Also, looking at my images, it doesn't appear that any of my images have been released to the partner sites.

My last direct sale via Zoonar was in 2012... And yes, clearance for the partner sites can take many months.

They are the middleman you don't need. I'm still waiting for my images to be removed. Waste of time and effort.

Wow, that's a long time... Maybe I'll give them a couple more months and then I think I'll be done with them.

I joined Zoonar today. Inspired by Backyardsilver who showed with evidence that in 2018 he received significant earning from Zoonar. Lets see how it goes for individual effort.

That is true - I do earn reasonable amounts from Zoonar. However, I think it is because of historical things to be honest. Back in the past, uploading to Alamy was a real pain in the neck. You had to work on each image in their system to separate out some important keywords from the rest and although individual sales were good when they occurred, they were not happening very frequently. As a result, I tried different ways to get my images on Alamy - mainly using "agents" to get them there. Zoonar was interesting because they took all my uploads and submitted them to Alamy and, presumably, worked through the uploading and submission issues and got them for sale. I have several thousand images on Alamy now that are under the Zoonar agency and those represent most of my earnings from Zoonar. I do get some from AGE and DDP from time to time, but most are from Alamy.

Then, of course, Alamy changed their ways and made uploading easier, especially if you use apps like Stock Submitter. It is now a no brainer for me to submit all my images to Alamy via that, and get their priority keywords automatically selected. I still upload to Zoonar because it is so easy, but I no longer use them to submit to Alamy - just the smaller sites that I would never get to in the normal way.

So be careful with your expectations - and sorry if I have misled you in any way. I've probably talked about the above in one blog post in the past, but maybe not made it as clear as I could.

Thanks Steve. Your work and your earnings are certainly an inspiration and something to follow and achieve. I started 4 years back or so.  And having around 4000 images on sale on all leading agencies. I work with 10 agencies or so. The income has been significant and rising with each passing year. For me, it is an investment for my old age. I should be able survive on royalties and travel the world thats the key goal to achieve along with freedom to move and have my share of fun.

I am not seeing any down trend in my earnings. Those rise with each image I upload. Present is always better than past for me.

Just one advise: Many Photographers forget to set Model and Property Release Information. Especially if they use Upload-Tools. Photos without these Information are not on sale. Some are rejected there contracts 1-2 years after it, because they had no sales...

Yeah, I just asked them to delete all my images and cancel my account. I asked them 6 months ago why none of mine have been released, and why they all have the error of No English Captions, and I'm still waiting.

You cannot have sales because your photos have no Model Release and Property Release Information. They are simply not on sale...
But why are you uploading new Photos every day if you have deleted your account six months ago? your last upload is from today (image 13186244)...

Have you really just come on and started revealing private information about this users account on an open forum?

I didn't say I deleted my account 6 months ago. I said I asked for support 6 months ago and was still waiting. Per your email, I was willing to go on and go through the tedious task if changing all of my images, despite the fact that it kept logging me out and crashing, but since you decided to confront me in an open forum, I will be deleting my 1,200 images, not "uploading new images every day," until you had my complete portfolio of 50K images, and cancelling the account.
To everyone else here, in the terse response I got by email, Mr Krabs told me that if I would check the forums, I would see that there were sales here. Also note that if you choose to delete your images it will take 7 months.
"Deletion date: 08.07.2019"

Goodbye Zoonar.

And for the record, I have been doing this for 14 years and this is the first time, despite dismal results or problems, I have ever deleted my portfolio from any agency.

Im sorry to see that my trials to communicate are fall to the ground. My intention was only to explain how our database works so we could booth earn money together. Because Zoonar works a little different from other agencies with a different system. It was not my intention to disgust you. The reason why your trials to work online are crashing and your are logged out are an DDoS-Attack that we have since two days. The reason for the six months deletion period are partner contracts with other agencies and publishing houses who pay after printing (we sent an invoice after we get the printing edition so we need the photos some months longer to pay the rest fees). But your Photos are delete from new sales at Zoonar in one week.

I see that small agencies have many bashings in this forum. But please think about two facts. 10 Euro per months from 20 small agencies are also 2.400,00 Euro each year. And what will be happened with the Photographers fees at the big 4 without competition in the future?

I hope you will come back some days!

Steve, please tell me how you automated the selection of the best 10 words on Alamy?
Thanks

I use Stock Submitter. You sort the keywords into some sort of priority order (just the first 8 or 10), which you need to do anyway for Adobe. Then, when it uploads and later submits to Alamy after the QC check, the App automatically marks the first 10 keywords as being supertags.

I wrote about it on my blog when I first found the feature:

I attribute with the help of StockSubmitter but I uploaded through FileZilla, but my super tags do not stand out. I do not know what the problem is?

I think Stock Submitter needs to be aware of the status of the file - so it must be involved in the upload and then it knows to go to the site to finish the submission. I'm not sure why you would want to use Filezilla in the middle of that process?

And be careful when you do close your account Zoonar have been known to leave deleted images on sale at other agencies they have accounts with such as Alamy and Shutterstock.  Even after the 6 month waiting period!

Then if you spot them you have to get Zoonar to delete the images as the other agencies will not.
