Title: Zoonar Partners acceptance?
Post by: CD123 on May 26, 2012, 13:27
So far I have zero images accepted by the Zoonar partner Picture Alliance. Anyone with accepted images?  ???

Also no approvals by Getty, but 80% still not evaluated. I decided to start uploading to Zoonar again due to this new partner, so how is your approvals going?  :-\

from various emails with Michael

Photolibrary doesn`t longer exists. The Agency was buyed and closed by Getty Images.
Picture Alliance only takes animal photos
Fotofinder doesn`t takes Microstock photos.
Alamy need VERY long because we only can submit 10.000 photos per months, but we still have 200.000 photos waiting
Age Fotosock needs sometimes a very long time to submit new files and sometimes they are very fast. Normally it would need 4-5 months.
Mauritius need 3-4 months.

i have had a bunch uploaded to Zoonar, but I was uncertain if i should opt in for their 6 months lock at partners.
Can anyone explain to me, why I should or should not.

I've had 6 sales there in 7 months.  4 of them through the DDP partner making the grand total of less than 7 euros.   I have stopped uploading to them, total waste of time.

I just noticed that there is Shutterstock in list of Zoonar's partners...

Not at all sure this Getty/Zoonar thing is working out? for some reason they dont even seem to want to know about Zoonar?
AGE:  well they are not happy at all with micro and certainly dont want micro mixed up with their RF/RM, etc.

I think Zoonar is more of an Agent actually, a sort of middleman if you wish, not an agency in its own rights?  could be wrong ofcourse.

bottom line: ther are too many ppl, too many middlemen, agencies, agents, third-fourth parties trying to cut slices from photographers incomes that in the end its a big fat ZERO.

I've reached payout from a couple of ddp sales. I dont have Alamy or AGE on my partner lists as i plan to eventually distribute directly. Stick in there, if the Getty partnership works out, sales are sure to be more frequent.

You all know that Getty most likely translates into Thinkstock (and photos.com), don't you?

That's why I have not accepted Getty.

If you were to set your price category to premium, it might elevate you from the getty subscription sites.... heres hoping anyway

On the point of Getty, does anyone here have any image on Zoonar which has an indication that it has in fact been accepted by Getty so far?

Hi, here´re some news:

Photolibrary doesn`t longer exists. The Agency was buyed and closed by Getty Images. CORRECT

Picture Alliance only takes animal photos AND Creative, but no Microstock

Fotofinder doesn`t takes Microstock photos. CORRECT

Alamy need VERY long because we only can submit 10.000 photos per months, but we still have 200.000 photos waiting. NOW WE ARE MUCH FASTER. WE HAVE A NEW EDITOR FOR THE ALAMY PROCESS (essential keywords, photo selection). But there are now 300.000 Photos left. Last Month we submit 40.000 Photos to Alamy.

Age Fotosock : Normally it would need 3-4 months now.

Mauritius: No longer exists

Picturemaxx : Only the best photos will submitted

Shutterstock (NEW): Only Photos, which are not at Shutterstock, especially local content from german, austria and switzerland (middle europe), Creative and Illustration. Makes only sense for Photographers which are not at Shutterstock or doesn`t have the time to submit there.

Getty Images: We need to add completely new keywords (delete the old ones) to fit Getty Keywords Guidelines. A first batch of 5.000 photos are now edited and will sent to Getty in the next 2-4 weeks. If that process is sucessfully, we will start with much more photos every month. At least 20.000 every month.

Hope this helps.  Zoonar will also implement a new API until the end of 2012. This alows us to provide much more partners very fastly.

Best,
Michael

Michael,

as you are here, can you clarify the Getty partnership a little bit?

Where exactly will the images be sold? Any of the Getty RM collections? Or Thinkstock / photos.com?
Or is it depending on the price level?
I would not want my (microstock) images to go to thinkstock only to get 50% of the already too low commissions thinkstock pays. I pulled out of Istock because I didn't like their commissions.
But if it would be possible to send some Premium (non-microstock) images to higher priced Getty collections, I might give it a try...

Michael,

would you care to step back into this conversation and answer the questions about the "Getty" partnership?

If you ask because of Google issue - they are from Zoonar collection on Thinkstock.
