Zoonar - What price category do you use - Microstock - Standard - Premium?

Do you use the same category for all your images?
And why?

I use microstock category for all images. Sales are rare, it may take a year or two from uploading until you start seeing any sales.

A year before sales!! Wondered why I haven't had one since I started Z a few months ago. What's the point of bothering!

I'd give it a miss.

Is there a reason for this?

Most sales are through various partners who have their own inspection regimes so it takes time.......

Not interested in their partners so I have wasted my time uploading there. I was also wondering why no sales. I will stop uploading immediately.

But Zoonar has access to interfaces to which you have no access directly as a photographer. I have very good experiences. It took about 1 year, until I had the first sales. Now I have every year sales at prices that are much higher than the prices of other agencies. Every two or three months I get sales for 50 or 80 , between also 6, 12 Euro, 23 Euro, etc. The participation is very fair. I can highly recommend Zoonar, you just need a little patience.
PS: The Getty partner sales are ridiculous low, don't activate Getty!

Which partners are you opted into? I supply most directly so didn't tick any. I was hoping for some direct sales from zoonar.

I opted into Zoonar API, AGE fotostock, ddp images, picturemaxx, I left out Shutterstock and Alamy, because I'm contributor there. In Getty images and Fotofinder I'm not interested longer, so i opted out (received some cents from Getty Images each month). Have not decided yet, what I should do with Pixta. Most revenues come from Age fotostock and ddp images in my case, so I strongly recommend to opt in.

Thank you for this insight, I'll give it a shot.

In the end I mostly used Premium, but as there aren't *any* direct sales through Zoonar *ever* and as the categories do not matter for distribution partners (I used to get 0,50 "Premium" distributor sales), it won't matter.

All in all very, very few sales and then I pretty much got shadow-banned for going after a customer of theirs who used a photo in breach of the license... not the best of experiences, really.

Amazed anyone ever managed to sign up let alone sell anything!

I tried to register - said a field was missing when it wasn't.
I couldn't send an email through their site mail for the same reason.
And no other email address available.

Not impressive.

I gave up.

Can't understand this! Must be a mistake on your side. Zoonar has - if you don't recognized that - a new interface, may be you should try again? Zoonar is farm from beeing the most comfortable agency.  But for me Zoonar is the best low earner, actually the agency belongs more to the middle tier in my case.

I don't know if that makes sense. But of course is it possible. RM means not exclusivity. All my pics on Zoonar are RF, but it would be worth to ask Michael Krabs, the founder and director of Zoonar directly. Write an email to him!

Thanks for the advice I asked and it's ok as to have it for sale rf on micro as editorial and on zoonar as rm. I am going to give a chance and see the results on the long term.

Thanks Roede-orm. I may give it another try...given the rather dire situation at SS I'm looking for other options! I'm less fussy than I was! Still manfully resisting DP.....just!
