Hello guys, I am a newbie, in vector microstock .. I have 10designs now with a total of 5 overall downloads.
Just wondering if theres a technique we can use to get our uploaded vectors have a download.
Everytime I upload a vector, I wait and refresh fotolia every 3hours to see If I have a download.
Any tips?
Thank you :)

So long as you have keyworded well, there's not a lot you can do.
You could try to drive traffic via blogs, your own website, fb, whatever: but if you were going to be successful at that, why not sell directly and keep all the profit.

Upload a couple of hundred more ;)

You get an email when you sell a file on Fotolia, no need to refresh, it will drive you nuts, unless you are selling on Shutterstock.
I always have outlook open, and when I get a sale of FT, I will know it.

You get email when there is sale on fotolia. SS & IS there is no email. I don't know about other agencies as I have not sold anything over there so far

Deposit, Mostphotos, Panther all send emails

Guys thank you for your time to answer my newbie question. My next target is to get to shutterstock

Do the various agencies view past history of an image or contributor when calculating search results? Do new images or those that don't get downloaded often get pushed to the back?

some agencies do - most don't give many details though

Thanks Steve. That means we all have a shot and don't have to worry too much about people who game the system like we have to put up with on Google, Bing, etc.
I guess the important things are having a good description, appropriate keywords and a fantastic photo. I have lots to learn on all 3 of those areas 8=) Glad I found this forum to help learn more about it.
