Title: Explanation of the Poll
Post by: bluesayler on March 18, 2015, 16:13
Hi everyone,

I have a quick question - what exactly is the microstock poll a sample of? Is it meant to represent everyone's earnings in total or a relative scale? Just trying to figure out what I'm looking at.

Thanks!

Im also waiting for somebody answer... i never understand the poll; of course if a site is at top of the ranking this site is the best... but i cannot understand what the score means...

Every month people can vote how much they earn on each site

The results are then calculated and a ranking rating is given to each site.  The rating isn't meant to give a dollar rating of what you can expect to earn as it would most likely be quite inaccurate anyhow.  What we can gather from the poll however is how the sites compare to each other.  For example, people are reporting that they are earning 3x more from Shutterstock than Fotolia each month

It will not be clearer and easier to understand if the results were in % too?

I thought it was a %age of when a baseline was set of SS at 100. Its only a rough guide and is very useful as such, my advice is don't try and over analyse it (like nearly all the Mstock "statistics" bandied around)
