Title: Has this group stopped taking new members?

I referred this group to a friend who is trying to register and not getting activation email...
Is this any bug or the group has stopped taking new registrations?

No, that is not it. It seems some free e-mail providers don't accept the e-mail activations. Try using a different e-mail service, he may have better luck with that.

I doubt as it never happened with other channels. He is using Gmail.

Lol, why do you doubt it, did you even bother to try or suggest it? Of course that could be it. It happened with me, so yes - that is probably it. Try a different account like say hotmail. Gmail recently became overly stupid aggressive with "email id verfication", so unless someone jumps & does what google wants (server side), google automatically rejects the e-mail.

I tried to register for about a year and never received an activation email. Then I tried to email the support and by lunchtime I received an email that my account was activated.
