Hi guys. I started in stock in early May and just wanted to get an opinion on how I'm doing so far. I feel like I should be farther ahead than I am now since I am working 95-hour weeks to do this. But who knows, maybe I am being too hard on myself. So....
As of today, on Shutterstock, my portfolio is now at 2000 pictures:
May revenue--$67 (I think I had about 300 pics at this time)
June revenue--$152
July revenue--$307
August revenue--$590
And just started uploading on Dreamstime and Depositphotos last month.
Over the last couple weeks, have been consistently getting 40-60 dls/day, but of course less on weekends.
I will probably start setting up a Symbiostock account once I have 10,000 pics. I think this is the last hope we have, and as a community we should really push to have 1,000,000 total images as soon as possible. These subscription prices are killing me.

I am around 350 dollar per month with 900 images. So you seem to be on track.
-
only 4 months and you made 590$ in August, don't think many would report that success in such a short period of time, not much to say beside congratulate you!

Thanks! That is very reassuring and comforting coming from you veterans.
Fritz, I'm a little hesitant to reveal my port at this stage. And the reason for that is because I don't want any of these 50,000 port image factories out there stealing my ideas until I have the manpower to dominate my specific niche. I've realized that the only way to be successful in this industry is to create your own ideas and innovate, give the world concepts that haven't been seen before or improve on existing ones. There is a lot of trial and error to which ideas have worked and what haven't. I hope you can understand my situation.

U.S. My friend introduced me to this concept several months ago. We deliberated for several weeks, pored through forums and other websites to understand the business, and finally took the plunge.

what is your experience at iStock?

Researcher ;)
I don't like istock at all. Takes too long to upload with keywording wanting me to match my word to its specific definition. Plus, I don't like their 1/2 off sale. I won't be uploading there ever.

...I am working 95-hour weeks to do this...
If I worked that much, I'd probably snap. You'd see running down the street in a pink tutu screaming like a madman.
