I am bummed. I made the mistake of deleting a whole folder off my computer from freezilla! I honestly thought I was clearing the queen folder. Boy was I mistaken! I won't make that mistake again (I hope...). I am grateful there were only 7 photo's in it :-\ Anyone have a similar story/mistake to share???

Were they on your hard drive?
Check your trash bin.  They will be there with a slightly different identification; probably just one character difference.
There is a "restore" option.

things are very rarely totally deleted.  If the photos were important you should be able get them back.. if you want..

Sure I would love to. I did some checking online and found software that can do this. I guess if I had deleted a great portion of photo's it would be worth the money, time and effort to do so. I had the raw unfinished photo's still on my desktop. There were only 7 or so that were deleted. I will just reprocess them.  I am just blessed that it was only 7 and not 100 or so. Hard lesson learned with just a little consequence.

Anyone know what Freezilla is?

I'll stop right there and let you figure it out.

Is this spam or a joke?

No, it is not a joke nor is it spam, and quite frankly your post is neither helpful or polite... :-[

Sorry but I went and looked and it was one of those "Free Movies" torrents and rapidshare sites. So I thought maybe you were pulling our legs, pointing to the free photo and video downloads... Illegal sharing?

From their site: All these files are freely available on internet in rapidshare or megaupload links or Torrents. I download them and upload them in mediafire so that the users who dont have premium accounts or those for whom Torrents dont work can also download them.

Not being perfect, I have deleted files by accident. If you haven't done too much on that volume, adding or defragging, this works, it's free and... It Works!  ;D Works on CF cards and that's why I needed it. Oops, I thought I backed up that card before I formatted it?

You might still consider me impolite considering what I found on the site that you got your lost files from. But maybe the link change the helpful part? :)

Oh in that case, forget about the pirate site and I hope you understand why I asked if you were joking, since it was a free file sharing place! :D

Yes, the less you have done on your drive the better chances of recovery. I carry FreeUndelete on a thumb drive in my pocket. That drive also has a defragging software and some other basic utilities that I feel I don't want to do without should I want to help someone someday. Oh yes, MBAM (Malware Bytes) also fits on that drive.

If you don't like the version I pointed to, I know for sure the one I use is free and tiny and works. I'll email it to you as an attachment.

That would be great! Thank you for the help! I took my email off hidden. And I do understand why you asked if it was a joke. Big difference between the site I meant to mention and the site I typed ::)

File "freeundelete.exe" sent email as an attachment, feel free to adjust your privacy again if that makes a difference to you?

Good Luck!

I did this once on a network drive in work (had a background window focussed instead of the foreground one I thought I was deleting from. 200gb gone in an instant.) Very very luckily I had only recently erased the previous day's 3rd backup from my local system so a very quick undelete and restore to network pretty much saved my job :)

PS: GetDataBack (NTFS version most likely) is by far the best 'normal person' data recovery software I've ever used. I've had this software get data back from some crazy situations... it is awesome (try the demo):
