Hello, I'm new to stock photography and recently got accepted as a contributor at iStockphoto. My photos have been pending for 10 days now, which is much longer than my application (4 days). I was wondering how long does it takes you guys get photo accepted, or at least reviewed. I am really shocked by iStockphoto's ineffective inspection process. Call me impatient, but at this rate, it would almost take 1 month to really get started.  :-\

I think it can be around two weeks for indies. Given that people can throw up 999 images a week (!) and the queue of files waiting to be inspected is currently 158978 (across all media), it's maybe not surprising.
When I started, newbies got 15 uploads a week (sometimes more, maybe sometimes less) and it usually took about a week to ten days even then, with fewer contributors. Mind you, the inspection standards were a LOT higher.
You'll really need to develop patience. Almost everyone is finding (since September) that new files disappear within a day or two of being uploaded, and they show no inclination or ability to do anything about it. Some people have stopped uploading until it gets sorted, otherwise your files will be lost forever imn the abyss.

Anything from a couple of hours to close to a month, lately.

I cab see the waiting time is increasing lately. But I mean, if iStockphoto decides to increase the limit (999 images). Shouldn't they also improve the inspection process in proportion?

Do exclusive accounts get their files reviewed first?

You'd think.
They said they could cope, but you'll get used to the fact that what they say and what they do don't always correspond.

I have some that have been in the queue for over two months now without getting reviewed.  Not a great incentive to submit any more.

Contact CR. They'll maybe give it a dunt (sometimes files get stuck), or maybe they'll hit the auto-answer button saying there isn't a problem but to contact them in so many days if it hasn't gone through, and after however many days, contact them again and they'll dunt it.
