Hi,

after getting the photos online, how much time do you wait before deciding if a subject is worth exploring further? Do you think this time-frame should be different for a new vs an established portfolio?

Thanks!

At least 4 months. It takes a while for some images to rise up the key word order. Some of my images from February have only started selling now...

I don't think it makes that much difference whether it's an established portfolio or new. Perhaps an established portfolio may get some more sales as a buyer may see similar images in your portfolio.

I try to always look at current events.  If you have niche, pursue it.  But for me I diversify and my next theme is what is popular in the news. Not a one-day news story but longer term current events like politics, gun control, global warming, etc.  This is to say that I evaluate my submissions against current events for the most part.
