I need to change a file from :gif to jpg" and also resize. I found "Batch Photo" (free for 30 days). Changing the end was no problem but can't figure out how to resize. Is there a etter editing sofeware available. I'm completely lost with editing software.

There should be a image size option. Usually, you can achieve this with the softwares comming with your camera. Nikon have Picture project and Capture NX. I don't know for Canon and others

It is odd to need to convert Gif to Jpg. Gif is indexed colour with a limited palette. When coverting a gif in indexed color to a jpg with an rgb palette, all you will get is a really bad jpg looking similar or worse than the gif.
On the resize, you don't say if you are going up or down, and by how much. If trying to upsize by almost any amount, your resulting jpg will likely look splotchy and posterized. Since most Gifs are ust plain small to begin with, I can't imagine you needing to downsize during the transition to jpg.
You might want to try Gimp. It's free, has resize capability, and many more features.

The full version of Photoshop is the industry standard for graphics. Photoshop Elements may be more in your price range.
If this gif to jpeg conversion is a one time thing, you might want to ask someone to do it for you. In fact if you post it to the board someone will likely pick it up and do it. If not, you may want to consult someone who has graphics software and knows how to use it.
I think Ifranview will work too. I have not used it in a very long time though and never used it much when I had it.

The gif size is 300 by 422. I need at least 800 by 800. I have photoshop but am clueless on how to do it. If i could see how it's done then i could do it but figuring out written instructions is another matter.

I'll do it for you for a fee of 40$ (Paypal is ok), and with the right algorithm for upsizing. I'm not clueless about Photoshop, at the contrary, but my advice isn't for free. ::)

In PS go to File>Open and select you file.
Go to Image>Mode and check RGB color
Go to Image>Image Resize and type in your desired number of pixels in the dimensions box.
Then File>Save As and select jpg from the dropdown. Use the arrow slider and save at quality 12
Just a note - you want to upsize the image by 100% or more. It will pretty much look like garbage, especially starting such a small image. Be sure to view your image at 100%. Use Cntrl + and Cntrl - to zoom in and out. Unless you have a cracked version of photoshop where the command may not work. You'll have to then use the navigator window.

You should search youtube. there are tons of video tutorials there.

Is this a troll. Has PS and doesn't know how to use it. Needs to make a gif into a big jpg which will make it a big bad jpg. Can't find the edit tab and see resize. This must be a joke.
