Im new to this game.
Is there some sites that are better for editorial pics than others, sale wise. I understand some dont even have an editorial catagory.
right now all i know is that BigStock & dt have editorial catagories.
i think i might have read that panther does also~but are they worth the time to upload to them.
And...was it alamy also good with editorial?
I had applyed to them & goofed on the resizing thing.

All my sales at Cutcaster were editorial. I've had at least one editorial sale at DT.

Nick, have a look at picturenation.co.uk for editorial sales. They sell to the BBC and like (PN is run by an ex BBC director). I have had sales there. Yaymicro.com also does editorial. Good luck. David

What do the different Micro sites pay for Editorial? I'm a bit confused. I see on one where it's listed as a minimum of $25, as print media. Another one has them for more credits. Other places I don't see anything that distinguishes them from RF license rates.
If I upload an editorial image to SS (or someplace else) will I get my usual 25-38c for a subscription, or aren't these included?
Would someone who is shooting and selling Editorial, on the Micropayment sites, please clear this up for me. I have never uploaded any Editorial to any Micro site because I was told they are sold at the same rates as everything else.

Racephoto, I have sold some editorial stuff on bigstockphoto and there you just get the normal micro rates of a dollar or so. Picturenation.co.uk sales get up to £30 commission for a high res download. Yaymicro pay more for editorial sales than their normal RF stuff (check out their site for rates) but I haven't had any there yet. Cannot comment on any other sites (not having editorial there). Hope this helps. Regards, David

I just sold another one at DT. It paid me $3. A previous image was $2.08. I'm pretty much a mushroom in these transactions ... just keep me in the dark and feed me $hit. :-)

Haha, great analogy WarrenPrice :D
I noticed that a few editorial images in my DT portfolio have a high number of views, but I haven't had any sales yet.
Alamy is supposed to be good for editorial images. I know that some editorial images sell pretty good on SS too.

That goes back to the 70s and a battle between the teachers/students and the administration at my college. Never forgot it as a great analogy. "They treat us like mushrooms, keep us in the dark and throw a little shite on us every now and then." ;D
If the sites are paying RF rates for news and Editorial, I guess I'll stick with Alamy. I thought for sure that FT or someone had listed them at print rate and you were supposed to ask for priority review so they would be more newsworthy when they went live. I suppose I was just dreaming that RM Editorial, which is usually exclusive or of limited availability, would bring in more than 1 million isolated shots of sliced fruit and vegetables, lady on phone, or someone perplexed looking at a computer. :-\
If there's any site paying something more up to print media minimum standards, someone please report it here. If not, I'm not going to chase fire trucks or listen to police calls, risk getting tear gassed at a protest, bang heads at a concert for five minutes in the pit, or waste three days on the road... for Three Bucks. ;)
What's the best paying micro site for Editorial photos? I'd like to concentrate on just one. Alamy is not micro.

I upload most of my editorial images to Alamy, but if there's not enough resolution for their 48MB requirement, I upload to the micros instead (SS, DT, BS, YAY and Scanstock). SS and DT sell a fair number of editorials for me, so it's mostly worth the effort.
