Title: Which stock image site would you recommend for corporate website images?
Post by: Existential on March 24, 2016, 04:46
I'm in the unusual  place of having to take over a website that has poor images, thanks to a combination of a poor photographer and a clueless project team, etc. I've never used stock images before but seems the most logical place to try to get images that match our site's objectives (office furniture and services). We do have some good images of our work, but very little of some the services we offer (like moving). Supplementation needed and no time or budget left to reshoot with a professional.

So, it seems the best thing to ask the photographers who contribute to the sites, which are their recommendations.

I think myself as far as choices i would for example recommend Alamy. You dont need to register to purchase images and if you need help with your search you can contact them directly and they will help you. If you buy a bulk you can get some discount.

Good luck.

Graphic Leftovers (glstockimages.com) is very simple to use, no tricks or silliness, and they have some nice curated galleries.  Something like "office moving" may be a bit specific, so you might just have to go where you find them ( excluding iStock, of course, ;) ).

Thanks to you both. Both look good. I note with some amusement that the glstock has many office images prominently displaying  nice looking female office workers. That said,  I'm sure something will work.

As a question, why would I buy a subscription?  - I don't get the idea, instead of just buying single images. My newness no doubt.

Cheers

If you are designing for multiple clients daily, you have a large need for various content.  A subscription might make sense.

In terms of broad choices with easy purchase you could look at 123rf. No need to buy subscriptions. I think the selection is good while prices are lower than Shutterstock (where you have the best selection).

It depends on the volume of bussines you have monthly. If you have regular clients, then you should buy a premium account. Calculate/extimate your volume.
