I started uploading to GraphicLeftovers last November/December and had so far 5 sales.

If I many ask where did you have images priced for those sales?

Five sales and one referral sale in about 2 weeks.  That will probably go down now more people are uploading there but that might bring in more buyers.  I have left all mine at $5, will see how that works.

I think I'll leave my images at the default of $5.00 for now until I see how frequently the sales role in ...

It will be nice to have a site not only appears to be getting lots of views and sales but also have user defined pricing levels.

I just had my first sale at Graphic Leftovers  :)

My prices were set at the default of $5.00 which produced a commission of $2.60. I now have over 500 images currently uploaded and approved there.

Sharpshot - I believe I am your referral for this site if you weren't aware of it ...

...Also, a tip...if you need to link to your portfolio and include the referral link as well, our site still tracks your referrals...

Dan, is it possible to link to a specific image in a portfolio while also including the referral? Like suppose a visitor to my website contacts me about a specific image they saw somewhere, and I want to direct them to the image on GL but also still get credit for the referral. How would I link that?

Hey Mike,

Yes you can do that, just add on /ref=mikemcd/ to any link on the site. So you would do, http://graphicleftovers.com/graphic/graffiti-sketch/ref=mikemcd/ for example.

I'm thinking about doing higher prices at this site once I get a feel for how often the sales are coming in at the default pricing of $5. There seems to be quite a few people having sales already relative to this being a new site.

Yes, there are many artists who do well, and since we started with mostly vectors, they sell the best on the site.

I hope everyone that has joined recently can start seeing sales soon too!

Another update: We've had a huge surge of sellers join in the past month...We've actually approved over 24,000 images in February alone! A lot of sales come from search engines and it will take a few weeks for your images to be indexed, so in a few weeks your sales should be more consistent. Also, the more our site is linked to, the more google will send traffic our way, so if you'd like to help your sales and our website at the same time, link to your portfolio or our homepage and you can include your referral link as well. For example, http://graphicleftovers.com/designer/stu49/ref=stu49/

Had my first sale on my first day on the site. - yesterday. Quite impressive.

BTW they are not accepting images of people, just more graphic style images like food, nature, etc.

I am in process of uploading my graphics there. I just started and I have first sale! Wow! 8)
That was fast!
I thought it would take ages to sell there, because they looked to me so unknown and not overflowed by tons of images like other agencies. But maybe this is an advantage! Realy interesting site.

This was sold - 3d Render Concept Cars Rainbow

What are you talking about man?? ??? Your post is nonsense to me. Referral links are allowed here I see them everywhere in here.
That file was sold and I wanted to share may thoughts and happines about it with everyone, in relevant forum thread. Who whats to view it can do so, who not not. Is everyone free will.
So what's going on?? ???

I think you described it quite clearly. The link is supposed to show a file you sold. That's what you say the link will do. That's what everyone is expecting. Not to cache you as referral.

And btw leaf started thread about referral link usage while ago. This would be nice example of what should not be allowed.

well his link does send you to an image of his and it has sold so I have no reason to doubt his honesty.  If you are linking to one of your images anywhere on the internet it is probably a wise move to include your referral link.

I just had my 2nd sale at GL. I have also had several referral sales which were priced as the default of $5.00 producing .25 each

For those that are interested in the data, my images were priced at $5.00 and the commissions were $2.60 each. My portfolio has 545 images.

It is an excellent portal for illustrations both Raster and Vector. Here is my referral link:  http://graphicleftovers.com/ref=mwp1969/

I guess it is meaningless to continue this yet just to make it clear - so are you saying that hiding a referral link under a text that does not hint at all that it includes referral link is ok? He is saying that anyone is free to click the text under which the URL with the referral is hidden or not click it. Unless one is checking the URL hidden under the text, then one is unwillingly using his referral. Many people won't notice it at all and may well sign under him without even knowing in future (in case it is cached which it probably is and unless the site displays it when signing up). I don't think I should need to scan the hidden URLs at this forum. It is not 'anywhere in the internet'. It is not a spam email saying that when I click the link it will take me someplace just to do something different.

Or are you saying this because some buyer may actually find his image through say Google and this forum? And so that he gets bonus for referring buyer (if the site supports it)?

That's my point of view... Not a big deal actually, there are simply quite a few referral threads around with all the links and wow's to make people use them. And that makes me bit allergic on them. Actually that's what this poster said as well -- look they are allowed, they are all around. Well I know they are allowed, but for me it depends on how their are used. One can use them often but transparently as mwp does and that's fine with me. This one we are discussing does not seem as honest usage to me. But who cares what's fine with me...

I would prefer it if people mentioned if they use a hidden referral link, I usually mention if a link has my referral in it out of courtesy to others here.  It doesn't seem to be a big problem at the moment though and leaf runs this site well, so I don't mind but if we all started posting hidden referral links, it could spoil the site.

The guy with the hidden link is actually honestly giving an opinion and referring people to the site via the link. If you find yourself on the site through the link then surely he is responsible for referring you via his post so deserves the bonus.
I think the above is far more annoying referral spamming, taking up half of every one of the many posts you make on the thread with the same spaced out referral link. spam spam spam. I feel like I've got squatters on my screen real estate!!!

I just signed up and queued up a bunch of files to upload.  It looks like every one is going to fail with "Error #2038" and there's no way to cancel the upload so I just closed the browser to kill it.  I emailed a request for an FTP account.

Not a very promising start.
