Sooooo, finally I will break my longterm and mostly very harmonic relationship to Canon and give it a try with the D800.

Since I am from the other ship, may I ask the Nikon users for a good lens recommendation? Which lens is best capable of handling those MP? Beyond the usual 2x-70x/120 range I want to buy a decent wide angle / fisheye, but could not find any good competition for the Canon 8mm. Thanks guys!

Pretty much as to my D3X, PRIMES! thats it. If you do feel the need for any zooms, yes the 14-24 is the one to go for, possibly the 70-200 VR but thats a gamble, some samples are OK, others are not.

BTW. Rumors has it that Canon will soon be launching something similar to the D800 with just as many MPs. Give it a thought.

best of luck,  whatever you cant go wrong.

Hi,
I have an 800e and use a 85mm F1.4G and 28-70mm F2.8.  Both are wonderful.

Best of luck,

Mark

Yes, defnitely. I am so used to zooms but I should consider using the opportunity to switch at least one lens. I heard about the possible Canon cam (3D?) but I am afraid that the price tag will be too high for me since the mkIII is already very pricey....
