The Germany-Portugal Game is very slow till now :P

What do you guys think.

I'm betting on a 2-0 for Germany

O-1 Kings

Kings for 1?

Kings play tonight for the world hockey champ in the us...I predict they will win 1-0 :-\  But I could care less and I could give a sht about the NBA with their "pay me more" attitude.  fk. em ALL

1:0 for Germany - I can live with that. The Germans did get lucky but as some of you may have seen the Champions League final (Bayern Munich vs. Chelsea) it doesn't take a pretty game play, in the end the score is the only thing that counts.

Can't wait to see what the Dutch are bringing to the table in the next games - lots of pressure now.

Great second day!

Luis

Sorry about the 1-0 game last night.  Neither team looked very good,  both teams are going to have to play better if they expect to have any success in this tournament.

It was a rather disappointing game, luck was on Germany's side. The best game so far was Russia:Czech rep, mostly because Czech defense was non existent and we saw many goals. But their style of play is a bit crude. A big game today, Spain:Italy, but I'm afraid it's going to be rather boring, a game of million passes on one side and just defending all the time, especially it they score first on the other, but the second game could be interesting, although outsiders are playing (looking at this group). I can't wait for the England:France game tomorrow. England is my last hope :) . They're not in the best of shape, especially without Rooney they're a bit toothless, but France has been dismal in the last few years as well. They should even play on the Euro, since the ref decided the last qualifying game vs Bosnia in their favour.

The Game yesterday was very tactical. The defence from both teams where standing very good and i think thats why it was rather boring to watch. Germany got very lucky in the end!

Can't wait for todays Spain - Italy game and tomorrows England- France game :)

ITA:SPA game was even worse than I expected. Spaniards didn't have a single striker in their starting XI :o

Agree but I believe Spain deserved a little more, Italy played as usual on their defense waiting for the right moment

Cro:Irl game saved the day. At least some decent footy, a few goal, attacking, not just defending and/or passing the ball in the middle of the pitch most of the time

Ireland wasnt bad at all, kind of surprised actually, that said the referee team wasnt on Ireland side too...

Yeah, a player was off side when they scored the 2nd goal and the ref didn't give them a clear penalty. They're always lucky, just like Italians.

The offside doesn't count if the pass comes from the other team. In this case the Ball came off the Irish players foot.
But the refs really where a bit against Irland. That was a clear penalty!!!

No, no, no!

Ireland's player kicked the ball  just before Mandzukic shoot for that goal... That was not offside!

Italians are lucky, that is sure, but Croatia is opposite story, remember Quarter finals with Turkey on last Euro...

A player (or two) was in off side position, when one of the Croatian players shot from outside the box (a few seconds before the ball bounced back to the Irish player who assisted Jelavic), the second situation was OK, the way you put it.

Do you remember how they got to the 3rd place in '98? You can get more lucky than that, lucky draws all the time, no tough opponents (when they got them in semi final they lost). They are good, they play nice football, they could have won yesterday's game even without the refs help, since they were better and even if there was no offside postion when the second goal happened there was a clear penalty and imagine how the game would change if Irish would score the penalty and it was 2:2 with 30 minutes to go ;) . All in all Croats are way better than the Irish, but no one know how the game would end if in fact that penalty would be rightfully given.

As far as i know, that doesn't count as offside, since the players where in a passive offside (the player with the ball wasn't passing to them). As long as the players who where in the offside position don't obstruct the opposite players, everything is fine.

Still, the situation was very unlucky for the Irish players.

Today England - France is going to be top.

I'm betting on France. Benzema is in my eyes one of the best strikers around. I'm also a huge Ribery fan (because of he's soccer and not he's looks  ;D)

Indeed, those players affect gameplay by obstructing, how can I put it, narrowing goalkeeper's view.

I'm all for England, I hope Stevie G scores one of his phenomenal 30m goals. But without Rooney, it's going to be tough, just like if France was playing without Benzema. Well almost, since Benzema is not as good, not to mention all around player :P

What a great evening it will be. First France vs England and then Sweden vs Ukraine. Bets placed, France (by logic) and Sweden (by heart) to win - fingers crossed!

It's the other way around mate (so you won't miss your national team;). I'll however miss the first half of England:France game :(

Waiting to see what Ibrakadabra will produce ;)

I think I can't understand; Why on earth didn't Hodgson bring Sturridge, he's in great form and would be needed in offense in the first 2 games. Instead of him Carroll and Defoe are playing :s . It's like Spanish manager not inviting Soldado, but Torres, beats me...

dont know about you guys but England kind of dissapointed me, very weak and defensive, not usual from them, looking forward to other matches... Shevchenko on the other hand was incredible, wasnt he "injured" on his back?? :o

Thoroughly depressed today...worst performance of the Swedish team I remember ever having seen. So many players were just awful. Zlatan was ok, just ok. Trying to tell myself that of course we can beat England and France and make it through....

They probably played for a draw, since it would be enough. Ukraine and Sweden will be a piece of cake, especially ENG:UKR when Rooney gets back and shows Shevchenko what time it is. I'm so glad Englad finally has a great keeper and defense is solid as well, with Gerrard (why???) playing as defensive midfielder in front of the Chelsea's brick wall. Not nice to watch, I agree, pure tactics, but so were all the games so far, except for SWE:UKR. Portugal disappointed me the most, their style was diametrically opposed to what we're used to, for what I love them. CR didn't show much either, nor did Nani, which is my fav Portuguese player
