Title: Blank journals with photo cover?
Post by: jatrax on March 27, 2015, 16:31
I have seen at some art fairs photographers selling blank journals with their images on the cover. I looked into getting them printed for a show I am doing this summer but the cost seems to be higher than what they were being sold for at any place I can find to print them.

Does anyone have a source for getting this type of merchandise printed at a reasonable cost?

Thanks,

The price would vary and depend on a number of factors like:

volume - number of copies. more books = lower price.
paper - type of paper, coated uncoated?
size - overall journal size
binding - stitched, hardcover, softcover, wire or coil bound?

Do you have a photo example of what you're looking for?

Some online print companies like Vistaprint, snapfish could do it.  They may even have some templates available where you simply drop in your photo and print X copies.

You could also try Fedex/Kinko's, Walmart, Staples.

I wonder if these guys can help you with a small number if you provide the cover art.

Thanks I'll check that out.  I'm looking for someplace that will give me enough of a volume discount that I can sell them and actually make money.  Most of the online shops seem to be retail level and only good if you just want one for yourself, not to re-sell.
