Title: Chilean miners
Post by: madelaide on October 12, 2010, 22:03
Being able to watch the rescue of the Chilean miners right from  my couch is mind-blowing. How often do we see history like this happening right in front of us?

I started boohooing as soon as the first one came up. How amazing. I cannot imagine what they and their families have gone through.

It was riveting to watch.

It's such a great story - how so many people have worked together to make this rescue happen. I'm hoping for a safe passage back up for the other 32 miners - and a smooth recovery from the trauma they've all been through.

I've seen the third one now beeing rescued, it's so exciting. I should be sleeping now, and I will, but it's wonderful to see this happy ending. Most mining accidents become tragedies, and it's nice to see a change.

Fantastic viewing and very emotional. I watched the first one out and then stayed watching Sky news all day yesterday. What a great team effort from everyone concerned. Such a relief now everyone is out. Regards, David.
