I have installed a camera to monior our agapornis nest and I'm also broadcasting it when lighting conditions help, like right now.  The mother has put 6 eggs, 3 of which already hatched, one broke many days ago and 2 are still intact.  She is just sitting on the eggs right now, but once in a whille she moves away and we can see the babies (1, 3 and 5 days old).

It requires Flash Player v.9.  Some grabbed videos can be seen there at any time.

Adelaide

Leaf,

I'm from Brazil.  But TV is on F-1 transmission, and it's probably what you hear in the background.

The camera is not online anymore, but I've been having some fun filming the chicks as they develop and grow up.  The second batch, born in early January, is starting to leave the nest now.  Here are two of them.

It's really fun to put the images and videos together, now I'm editing them, adding titles and music.  This week I took much better photos of them, after I bought a large piece of white plastic.

This is by no means intended to have any professional look, it's just for the fun and sharing.  They're so cute!

Adelaide

Hi Leaf!

Weren't the links working? I got them from the videos.  I didn't mean to embed them here, if that's what you thought.  Netscape crashes with YouTube.  :D

I really enjoyed this...and you even pulled me out of lurk-dom to comment.  ;D I used to raise various color-mutations of peach-faced lovebirds...lutinos were my favorite. You brought back a lot of very happy memories - thanks for posting!

hdconelly,

I don't know much about the color variations, indeed we had no plans of raising families, but these birds like to mate and lay eggs!  :D

I have added a new video.

Old thread...  Our lovebirds don't stop growing their families.  One couple is in their 4th nesting and the other in their 3rd. Today I took this photo of the six chicks of the latter.  Aren't they the cuttiest thing?   ;D  We've been giving the chicks when they are 2-4 months old. Sometimes it's really hard to say goodbye, but it's impossible to keep all of them.

There are more videos at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/adelaidebbs

How Cute! I thought they were toys at first glance.  :D

They sometimes act like toys, those you wind to make them move.   ;D

I enjoy playing with the chicks, because once they learn how to fly they don't do those tricks.  One of them learnt how to jump from my hand to my chest and kept on doing that over and over again.

Adelaide
