Do your knee's shaking before shooting? Do you think about equipment fail or some other bad thing that can go wrong?

Sometimes I'm in this position and I'm little scared before shooting....This is when Im on new location and with new models.  Just think about everything and how to take best from equipment and me.

I sometimes get stage fright just before shooting a wedding. So much depends on me! Once I start shooting things are (usually) fine though. ;D

If I am shooting a new concept or on a location shoot, I will experience a bit of anxiety. It does go away a few moments after the shutter starts clicking ;D

Having been a rock & roll musician in my youth, these feelings are very familiar. I used to have a set routine before each performance and if I deviated from it, I always worried that the performance would suffer.
That was just youthful superstition of course.

Now, I just prepare the best that I can, make sure I have back up equipment in case something fails.... and hope for the best.

(I guess that is my 'new' routine).

I still get nervous before every model shoot (except the ones where I am just photographing my husband).  It feels exactly like mild stage fright.

A friend of mine who is a professional musician says he still gets stage fright before every performance.  He says that is part of the creative process and that if it ever goes away then he would be worried.

If he's right, then I am glad I still get nervous.  It is probably that extra rush of adrenaline that gets my brain working in overdrive and keeps the ideas flowing.  At least it hasn't gotten boring :)

I just came back from the Rogers cup in Montreal (tennis) and the second I get out the subway my heart beat start accelerating and that until I take my camera in my hand and turn it on.

After that I enter in a very calm mood, listening techno-trance music from my mp3 while shooting, I'm in my own world at this time, even if there's hundred of people around

It's the same for every event I go to

Scared as hell- everytime! While a shoot might seem routine, there's always the chance of creating that image you never knew possible. And photography connects us with ourselves, and other people.. and sometimes the images might be even be a Rorschach test. The day I'm not scared is the day I stop shooting...

LOL, that's how I was driving to the camera store when my dealer called to say that my new macro lens was in after at least a 3 month wait!  (Like when I was 12 and saved and saved and saved for a new bike!!!)

Jitters:  Yep.  Guilty.  I shoot a lot of youth sports and I am pretty okay with that because it is such routine, but earlier this year I shot my first big school with a couple hundred dancers and I fretted and double checked and triple checked - but after the first little beauty it was all behind!

If I find something that I think is really special I get a bit excited and thus makes it harder to keep steady.
