Need help from the pro's-  What Wireless Transfer devices would you recommend for my Canon 1D Mark IV? Of course, Canon has the WFT E2 and E4 for almost $800! Someone told me about the EYE-FI Pro X2 which I am sure is much more affordable.

Thanks

Tom

I've heard nothing good about the Eye-Fi.   Only that it doesn't work, or if it does, it's way too slow.

I would shot raw plus Jpg thus tether the jpg only - canon wants my my entire paycheck for everything! Might have to jump ship to Nikon where everything is like 20% the cost of Canon...

Nikon also has a wireless link which is fantastically expensive.  I don't remember the price and I'm not going to check again because it gave me a nosebleed.

I think the best option we have today is using an inexpensive android phone/itouch to get wireless capacity

I came across a neat product called CamRanger (http://www.camranger.com) that connects to your camera with the normal USB connection and then creates a WiFi hotspot of its own. Your iPad (or laptop) can then log onto the wifi hotspot and get the live view, capture images, do focus stacking, do time lapse, HDR bracketing etc. It is sold from their site at $299 and I was sorely tempted (just because it was really well constructed and I was impressed by the knowledge of the inventor/CEO when he demo'd it to me.)

If anyone has one, let me know what you think!
