Title: Fireworks at the opening of the Year of France in Brazil

On Tuesday we had the opening of the Year of France in Brazil, a big cultural event we're having this year with concerts, exhibitions, lectures, etc from French artists, scholars and companies. The opening was a fireworks display that I tried to photograph and record. Due to the non-stop rain and my not very good positioning, the result is a bit lame, but you can see the show was beautiful.

Great! Muito legal :) It reminded me of the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Lagoa a couple of years ago. Rio is always a great place to go.

I am glad you guys liked it.
GA, I think the New Year's foreworks at Copacabana are still more impressive. Maybe because of the mood of the new year, maybe because there is music. This show now was special because it had some synchronized effects. The local governemnt invited Group F to take part of the bid of this year's show.

Adelaide, I definitely agree about the New Year at Copacabana. Seeing millions of people in good mood all dressed in white, plus the beach and the fireworks - it all makes for a great party :)
