Excellent video parody of Empire State of Mind by a group of unemployed teens in Glasgow.
(NB: G20 is the postcode of Maryhill, a historically deprived area of Glasgow.)
The allusions will be totally lost on those who don't know the city, though:

Hahha - didn't know you were such wimp Christian? Nothing wrong with Glasgow, at least during the day or when an Old Firm game is not being played...apart from that it is great fun and friendly.
Had the great "fortune" of doing a somewhat of a self portrait with my wife for the Scottish sun...me dressed in the Celtic strip being pinned down by her in the Rangers strip (she is fan) - got a lot of stick for that...

I agree with you, nothing beats the Highlands, but as a City Glasgow ain't as bad as many people seem to think. It is the same way that Gothenburg really is so much better than Stockholm...although you escaped it by now ;)

Well? at least we have more then one street, as far as I know, Gothenburg has got one: the avenue. ha, ha, ;)
Seriously though. Im fed up with both, thats why I got myself a farm in the country, syd-svenska höglandet. Lovely, best thing I have ever done. Same thing as when I lived in London for 23 years, best thing I ever did was when going to the highlands or down to Cornwall.

We always try to make an expedition to Tighnabruaich every May. Missed it last year as it didn't stop raining in May, but the year before, we hit a glorious day coinciding with a shinty match, which was great. They have a stunning shinty pitch between the cliff and the sea!

I agree, done with City life (London especially), live far outside Gothenburg now-a-days and frequently go over to the in-law's estate in Argyll (close to Tighnabruaich), a lovely place overlooking Arran where you can really re-charge your batteries and get away from it all.
We always try to make an expedition to Tighnabruaich every May. Missed it last year as it didn't stop raining in May, but the year before, we hit a glorious day coinciding with a shinty match, which was great. They have a stunning shinty pitch between the cliff and the sea!
My wife grew up in Tighnabruaich House and used to play shinty on that pitch. Always take the kids to the swings and slides next to it when we're over. In-laws sold Tighnabruaich House (to some German who unfortunately is never there) and moved to Ardlamont (Corra) - if you take the long winding road along the sea out of Tighnabruaich and drive around the peninsula you come along it right at the point where you have an unobstructed view of Arran.
Love it there, best place in the world to feed the soul and was over last month - try to go over a couple of times a year.
