Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  I have many things for which to be thankful.  But, regarding stock photography, I'm thankful for the glimmer of hope that Picturengine brings to an industry with increasingly downward commission rates.

Same to you, though thanksgiving makes no sense here.

But Im thankful that I have a side of bacon in brine, ripening for the smoke.

No Thanksgiving here either, but best wishes and happy Thanksgiving to peeps in the U.S.

To enter the spirit of the thing... even if this industry went belly-up tomorrow, I'd be grateful for the opportunity I've had to have a full-time career that I have loved.  To learn things I thoroughly enjoyed, and to have a market to sell my wares.  Whatever anyone says about today or surmises about tomorrow, this has been the best working era of my life.  Thank you microstock, and especially Jon Oringer who really made this feasible for me.

As this if off-topic, I am very thankful to the staff of Monklands Hospital who, as two teams, made a difficult diagnosis then helped restore my 90 year old Dad back to health, and he got home yesterday after six weeks.  ;D ;D ;D
At the risk of sounding political, I want to point out that contrary to some total misinformation that was put out in the US last year, he got top treatment under the NHS 'despite' being 90.

Could never understand why you Yanks celebrate Thanksgiving so close to Christmas.  ::) We Canucks across the border do it during the last week of October. And for all of you who are asking what gives with Thanksgiving, as I always understood it, the day originated with farmers giving thanks to God for their bountiful harvests.

Believe it or not, and this is a little known fact. In the USA the holiday was moved to make for a longer Christmas shopping and holiday season. No REALLY! It's all about consumers and commercial enterprise.

Hey wait, the last week of Oct. is Halloween. The time for pagan festivals and all that?  ;)
