It was excellent and with the usual mini-documentary at the end about how they filmed it, which I always love to watch. All my thinking, "I never get light like that, they must be using a Moose warming polariser all the time" was negated by them saying they'd been in situ for four years.

Do catch it, very worthwhile.

thanks for the heads up too, very nice episode, 30 days to film the giraffes fight, its insane how there is always something that haven't been discovered yet, going to record the all serie just in case I miss the following weeks

Yes it's a real drag that peeps outside the UK can't watch iPlayer programmes.  That's why I posted the link I did - I figured at least anyone who is interested could see the stills and hear the narration. 

I know we get to watch it all because we pay the license fee for the Beeb - but I can't fathom why they don't give paid access to people from abroad.  How would it hurt them to get more revenue?  It seems so illogical to me that I'm sure I must be missing something.

As you both say, it's wonderful to be reminded that truly great work has so much to do with patience and dedication.  Helps us all to slow down and think about what we're doing more carefully - which can only be a good thing.

Sorry Luis... am I going mad?  I thought you were in Portugal when I first saw your posts and then the States, and then I noticed one day that you had 'UK' on your location.  I assumed you were travelling around the world in stages.

@ Noodle - yes, I often put off watching them for a little while because they feel a bit indulgent when I have a lot else to do... then when I finally catch up I wonder why on earth I waited so long.

I wish ahah I am from Portugal but now I am living in the UK, been in the States in 95 with my parents, looking forward to visit it again but for sure a few closer countries before last year spent a few time in Ireland too

thanks for the link.Outstanding photos. They are right Africa is hard to describe. Its wild,beautiful, dangerous,intriguing,vast and overwhelming. Where airplanes and camel meet. I flew over a lot of Eastern Africa between 1975 and 1986. I sure wish I had a better camera than I did. Its hard to get great photos with a point and shoot 35MM.
