I go through that everytime I have to help my boyfriend when he wants to do something on the computer.  Cept for me I actually scream out what he's supposed to be doing instead of the think cloud.  I also tell him to move out of the way so I can get in there and get it done hee hee.

I used to teach an 'IT for Absolute Beginners' course for the long-term unemployed and elderly.

I now have a nervous disorder... 

Computer newbies = the ultimate patience test! 
The only time when my mother and I yell at eachother is ... well you know what I mean ...

I have seen "serial clickers" in my class. They just start clicking on everything whenever the computer doesn't do what they want.

My boss clicks on the "print" icon, again, and again, and again, and then he's surprised that the printer produces 6 copies of the same document!

I'll never forget the day i was teaching my mother how to use the mouse, explaining her she should point and click. She lifted it up, aimed it towards the screen like a gun and clicked ....

No one in my office knows what a scroll bar does. There can be 10,000 lines of whatever and they will click on the down arrow 10,000 times. I showed someone shift-click today. "Oh, well, I'm not familiar with the new version of Excel."

and oh yeah, the print thing.
"I've clicked on print 10 time and it still hasn't printed." I reply, "Sometimes, it won't start printing until you click at least 20 times. Probably a kink in the hose."

Actually (believe it or not) I've learned to be tolerant.

One - reason is people calling me for computer help on the phone and I have to explain. I can't see your computer screen!

Two - I've had people looking over my shoulder, who know the software, and get all uppity about what to click next, when they are supposed to be training me. (yes I know what CTL - C, CTL-V and CTL-A do!) STFU! It's easier to see from behind what's on the screen sometimes.

Three - I've had to look over someone shoulder and remember that being a nagging person just makes it harder to teach them what to do, so I remind myself to be patient.

But in the end, hey that was funny! Just Hit Enter! Can't you see what's on the darn screen... The search has already filled in most of what you are looking for. PLEASE! LOL

Quite funny

Forgive me for trying to be productive, but I find that we are always doing some step unproductively and someone can correct us. Not quite like this, but for example i've only recently learned of ctrl+L in firefox (I usually got a new tab [ctrl+t] just to avoid using the mouse to get to the address bar). Many people i know that consider themselves efficient still type "www." and ".com", which have shortcuts since the late 90s.

Maybe we should all share some shortcuts and tricks links

The thing that tries my patience is that many people cling to their lack of computer experience like a raft. The same type logic in the rest of the world doesn't work and wouldn't fly.
