That micro stock image could be a little warmer, like that it wont be accepted by the micros

curious that I have watched many free workshops from CL and always wondered why there wasn't ever a single comment from a photographer teaching there, not anymore

I believe it is warm enough, maybe a little over actually but I believe we can talk about the deep shadows, anyway looks like Lesa background is RM

There's money to be made in the realm of stock photography, specifically the super affordable royalty-free phenomenon called microstock. However, with so many great photographers jumping on the bandwagon, competition is stiff. In this informative session, iStockphoto's former chief evangelist shares her tips for a successful career shooting microstock. Learn what kind of photos sell, five shoot ideas guaranteed to produce results, and more. You'll also learn processing tips in Lightroom and Camera Raw, how to describe and keyword images so they're found, as well as how to save and submit your files.

WHO??  I've never heard of Lesa Snider.  Does she go by another name on Istock?

I guess she's been too busy to upload as she's 'on a mission' apparently;

"BIO:

Shes an internationally acclaimed speaker and author of Photoshop CS6: The Missing Manual, Photoshop CS5: The Missing Manual, and coauthor of iPhoto 11: The Missing Manual (Pogue Press/OReilly, www.lesa.in/lesabooks). Lesa is also a stock photographer and the founder of the creative tutorial site, PhotoLesa.com. She writes a regular column for Photoshop User, Elements Techniques, and Macworld magazines, and contributes frequently to Design-Tools.com and PlanetPhotoshop.com. Lesa is also a long-time member of the Photoshop World Dream Team of instructors and can be spotted teaching at many other conferences around the globe. She also teaches Advanced Photoshop for the international graphic design school, Sessions.edu. During free time, youll find her carving the twisties on her BMW sportbike, dressed up in her Star Trek best at a sci-fi convention, or hanging with fellow Apple Mac enthusiasts. Lesa is a proud member of the BMWMOA, F800 Riders Club, the Colorado Mac User Group (CoMUG.com), and the North Coast Mac User Group (NCMUG.com)."

Clearly, as she has a 10:1 dl/ul ratio, I for one have a lot to learn from her.  ;)
She knows a lot, though she has an annoying nervous giggle.

Guess I should really take that class, it is free after all...

Maybe by "chief evanglist" she means that she used to recommend istock to designers?
And why did she stop "evangelizing"?

But I have never heard of her, ever.

Did I miss something?

Can someone post a portfolio link? Or her website?

She did one or more free podcasts for iStock last year in a promotion for Nik software, and has written recent Photoshop Missing Manuals.

Ok, I see, she has her own evangelizing page on istock. Well if she brought customers to istock, that is good I suppose.

http://www.istockphoto.com/lesasnider

But I can't bring myself to post her portfolio link. Obviously shooting stock to make money from it by selling the pictures is not what she does.

Maybe we should all move to teach classes instead of shooting. I keep hearing stock is dead, maybe the next wave is to just get people to sign up and show them how to prepare holiday images...

By the way, am I the only one who kept noticing something else prominently displayed by her in that promo video? Does this really work to attract paying clients in significant numbers?

If she's been selling for 9 years and has only sold 80, it isn't an achievement.  Some statistics are meaningless.

Still, it would be different altogether if she had 800 files and 80 dls or 8000 files and 80 dls.
So, not as meaningless as you suggest.

Actually, I see I missed the winky smilie on the earlier post, which was half-serious.

It seems to be her personal style.
I had a buxom colleague at work who had a similar personal style.
