Title: Lens -Education
Post by: Goofy on December 17, 2013, 10:23
Why is the image stabilization available on prime lenses but not be add to most zoom lenses? I love the IS function on my 100mm lens - it allows me to take shots at a much lower shutter speed than my zoom 24-70 lens. Maybe is physics that the IS cannot be added to most zooms? I would buy a Canon 24-70 IS in a heartbeat after using my 100mm prime IS...

Thanks - Tickstock!

The F/4 is the only thing keeping me from getting that canon 24-70 IS. I wonder if they will come out with  an F/2.8?

I believe that Tamron makes a lens with stabilization in a similar focal range at f/2.8.
