Title: National Postcard Month 2013
Post by: Uncle Pete on November 01, 2013, 21:56
Well it was in May. But, I get an urge to send two cards a year, so I just went to Vistaprint and ordered 100 cards.

Here's where the project stands. I mailed out 100 in May (or 98?) And some came back. Also overseas and Canada cost exorbitant amounts. I think it's $1.10 for out of the US and Canada went from 50c to 85c and then same as sending a card to Holland.

Heck the cards cost about 20 cents, and used to cost $1 each. It's always something, isn't it?  :o

So if you live in the USA and would like to be added to my personal postcard list. No favors, nothing in return, no spam or advertising, just when I mail I like to send out almost all the cards. Please reply PM with a name and address.

I'm really sorry but I have to cut the foreign cards, it's just too expensive.

Part of this is also NPCW lists from three years ago, some people have moved, died, or closed boxes and I got some cards back. I just thought, I'd rather start over with a list of friends and family, then the postcard people who do this in May and send the rest to Micro-stock folks who might get some enjoyment from a postcard.

I was doing Scenic for May and Racing for the anitpodal day. Then I thought racing was boring so I'm just going "personal" or something I like for the second card of the year. Who knows, there are no rules.

Anyway, if you would like to be added to the list and are in the USA, please send me your address PM. I should be mailing in November from somewhere? I try to have interesting postmarks. So far I did "Waldo", "Flippin, AR" and "Belgium" but the USPS often overstamps from the bigger mailing center and ruins the fun. I'm trying to find another small post office for the distribution point. I found Zinnoni which was a travel trailer in the Ozarks?

If you happen to be interested in NPCW, there's a dedicated group and a lady who manages a list. You can make 20 cards or 100 or whatever you want, and for what you send, you get one back. I just picked 100 because that's usually all the list and all my relatives and friends, with some left over. It's not huge or expensive.

The PHOTO cards are about $12 on Vistaprint, plus some shipping. Comes out to maybe 20-25 cents a card at most. The postage turns out to be more expensive than  the cards now. Which is strange.
